AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming jLmA a contract with H. J. Taylor
Construction Company for the construction of cdrtain curbing,
guttering and paving improvements on certain streets in the City
of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to
pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the
proposal of H. J. Taylor k'onstruction Qompany hereinafter referred to
as the "Contractor" as submitted to the board of Commissioners on June
10th, 1929, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and
best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Boardof Com-
missioners of bald city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the
City by its Mayor on June 10th, 19290 for the construction of certain
public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering and paving of Fifth Street from the
north line of Elm Street to the south line of North
Street, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3699, said
paving to be of 9" Vibrolithic 4oncrete.
Curbing, guttering and paving of Eleventh Stre .t from
the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Park
Street as rovided for by Ordinance No. 3694, said paving
to be of 2V brick on a 5" concrete base
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal
which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of
this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said proposal being within the estimated test of said improvements
as shown by the estmates of the City Engineer on file in the office
of the City clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made
a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared
by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City ''lerk and in
accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested
by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses
in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof
not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear
interest not to exceed 6 percent per annum and to mature not later
than June lst, 1930, and to be issued in such amounts and at such
time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required,
such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and can-
celled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after itspublication in the official city paper.

at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said pro-
posal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and
made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified
and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of
said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City
Engineer on file in the offioe of the City Clerk, which estimates
are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared
by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and
in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the
- ;terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made
parts of this ordinance.
