of Salina,
,Section 1. Storni Sewer No. 1.2. That it is necessary and it
is hereby ordered that a sto?'m sewer which is hereby designated
as Storm Sewer No. 12, together with all necessary inlets, connec-
tions and other appurtenances be constructed in the City of Salina
along the following course, to -wit:
Beginning at a manhole on the existing sewer at Fifth and.
Pine Streets, thence north in rifth Street 155 ft. to a manhole;
(all such sewer to be 15"); thence north in Fifth Street 137 ft.
to a manhole; (all such sewer to be 12"); also beL,;inning at the
manhol.e on the above mentioned sewer at Fifth and rine Streets,
thence south in Fifth Street 270 ft. to a manhole, thence south
in Fifth Street 430 ft. to a manhole; (all such sewer to be 2711);
thence south in rifth Street to a caanhole at the intersection of
Fifth and Elm Streets; (all such sewer to be 2411); all of said
manholes, together with all necessary inlets, inlet connections,
overflow relief connection, special manholes and other appurtenances
to be constructed as a part of said sewer.
Section 2. That on or before June 6th, 1129, the City
En,ineer shall prepare ana file in the office of the City Clerk
detailed plans and specifications f'or the construction of the
stoma sewer provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance, with
segment block vitrified, and concrete sewer pipe, and such
other types of sewer as said Engineer may deem; advisable, and on
or before the same date shall prepare and. file in the office of
the City Clerk, under oath, a detailed estimate of the cost there-
of. After such plans and specifications and estimated cost shall
have been filed, as aforesaid, the City Clerk shall advertise, by
advertisements published in the official city paper for at least
three consecutive days, for sealed proposals for the builc,inE, and
construction of such stor-m sewer, and at the time and place mentioned,
the Board of Commissioners may contract with the lowest and best
responsible bidder therefor, for the building and construction of
such storm sewer, but the right to refect any and all proposals
shall be and the sane is hereby reserved, and any contract awarded
for such work shall provide for tree furnishing by such contractor
of performance and maintenance bonds, and f'or a statutory bond,
in amounts equal to the full cost of such work, which shall be

approved by the Board of Commissioners before any'such work shall
be commenced.
Section 3. That for the purpose of paying the cost of such
improvements, the Board of Commissioners shall issue improvement
bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in an amount not to exceed
the total cost of such work and improvements, to be payable in
ten approximately equal annual installments and to bear interest
at not to exceed 5% per annum from the date of such bonds, and
for the purpose of payingg such bonds and interest as they severally
mature, the Board of Commissioners shall annually levy a tax upon
all real and personal property in the City of Salina in an amount
sufficient to pay the annual installments of such principal and
interest, and that pending the issue of such bonds, temporary
notes shall be issued according, to law, to pay the cost of such
work.
Section 4. That sections 2 and 4 of Ordinance No. 3672 be
and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
