AN ORIINANCE amending Sections 4 and 5 of 0

repealing said original Sections 4 and 5 of said ordinance
and adding an additional section thereto.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section -l. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3802 be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 4. Those governed by this ordinance, and of whom
licenses shall be required as provided for herein shall be classi-
fied and defined as follows:
(a) Junk Dealers, who are defined as any person, firm or

corporation buying, selling, collecting, trading in, exchanging
or otherwise dealing in junk as herein defined, except old auto-
mobiles or parts thereof, and who shall conduct such business at
and from any yard or place in the City of Salina where any such

junk is kept or stored.
r (b) Junk Buyers, w-ro are defined as any person, firm or
corporation bu �n
P buying, selling, collecting, trading in, shipping or
otherwise dealing in junk as herein defined, except old automobiles
or parts thereof, at any place in the City of Salina other than at
the yard or place of business of some regularlylicensed
jural, dealer,
and who have no yard or place of business in the City of Salina where
junk is Dept or stored.
(c) Junk Collectors, who are defined as any person, firm or
corporation buying, selling or collecting junk as herein defined,
except old autombiles or parts thereof, at any place in the City of
Salina other than at the yard or place of business of some regularly
licensed junk delaer, and who buy or collect the same for, or for re-
sale to, a Junk Dealer or Junk Buyer regularly licensed under this

(d) Paper Juni. Dealers, who are defined as any person, firm
or corporation buying, selling or collecting old papers, cardboard
or paste -board boxes, rags, barging or similar old materials, or
baling the same, at any place in the City of Salina.
(e) Automobile Junk Dealers, who are defined as any person,

firm or corporation engaged in the business of buying, selling,
storing, exchanging, trading or otherwise dealing in old automobiles
or parts thereof for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling or junking
such old automobiles or parts thereof or dealing in the same for any
purpose other than as vehicles, and ti^rho conduct such business at or
from any place in the City of Salina where any such old automobiles or
parts thereof are wrecked, dismantled, junked, kept or stored; provided,
to regular dealers in new or second

in selling or dealing in old automobiles.
(f) Automobile Junk Parts Dealers, who are defined as any person,
firm or corporation engaged in the business of buying, selling, storing,
exchanging, trading or otherwise dealing in old automobiles or parts
thereof for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling or junking such old
automobiles or parts thereof, or dealing in old automobiles for any
purpose other than for use as vehicles, who do not engage in the business
of wrecking, dismantling, junking or storing such old automobiles or
parts thereof within the City of Salina, but who engage in the business
of selling parts from such wrecked, dismantled or junked automobiles at
or from any store, yard or other place in the City of Salina".
Section 2. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 3802 be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 5. Z'he fees for such licenses shall be as follows:
(a) For Junk Dealers, y100.00 per annum
(b) For Junk Buyers, y�'50.00 per annum
(c) For Junk Collectors, yp1.00 per annum
(d) For Paper Junk Dealers, 410.00 per annum
(e) For Autonibile Junk Dealers, $250.00 per annum; provided that an
autombbile junk dealer may engage in business as a junk dealer or as an
automobile junk parts dealer without additional licenses or without paying
additional license fees therefor.
(f) For Automobile Junk Parts Dealers, $100.00 per annum.
All such license fees shall be payable in advance and all licenses
issued hereunder shall expire on the last day of December next after the
same are issued, and no licenses shall be issued for less than a whole
year or for the remaining portion of the year after such license is issued,
provided that any license issued prior to July lst, in any year, shall
require the payment of a license fee for a full year, and any license
issued after July 1st in any year shall require the payment of one half
of the annual license fee herein provided for, for the remaining portion
of such year."
Section 3. That wherever the terms "Junk Dealer' or "Automobile
Junk Dealer" are referred to in Section 7 or in Section 10 of Ordinance
No. 3802, such terms shall be deemed to include the terms "Junk Buyer"
and "Automobile Junk Parts Dealer" as defined in this ordinance, and said
section shall be deemed to refer to and include Junk Buyers and Automobile

Junk Parts Dealers, as defined and referred to in Section 4 of
Ordinance No. 3802, as amended by Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 4. That original Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 3802
beand the same are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication in the official city paper.
