3687 Confirming Utility ImprovementsORDINANCE NO. 3687 (Published in the Salina Journal April ld 1929) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 11 in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE I'T OkDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Qompan y, hereinafter referred to as the contractor, as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 11th, 19290 which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the , Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed On behalf of the city by its Acting k ayor on M arch 25th, 1929 for the building and construction of Storm Sewer No. 11 as provided for in Ordinance No. 3672, said storm sewer to be constructed of iso. 1 - Vitrified Segment Block in sizes 30 inch to 36 inch, inclusive, and of No. 2 double strength vitrified clay pipe in sizes 12 inch to 27 inch, inclusive, at and for the unit prices for all of said work as contained in said prop:.sal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. That said Storm Sewer No. 11 shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications there- for prepared by the City Engineer and on file in the office of the City Clerk, and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3 !hat temporary notes signed by the klayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 6 percent per annum and to mature not later than June 1st, 19302 and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be re- quired, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
