AN ORDINANCE providing for the repair and reconstruction of a certain
sewer in Ash Street between r'ront Street and Riverside Drive,
and for the payment of the cost thereof by the City at large
and for the issuance of general ii;provement bonds to pay such
costs.
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina from the report of the City Engineer dated March 15th, 1929 that
certainportions of the sanitary sewer in Ash Street, between Front Street
and Riverside Drive, are in need of repairs or reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, said sewer serves a substantial portion of the City of
Salina and in the opinion of the governing body, it is necdssary to re-
pair, or reconstruct said portion of said sewer in accordance with said
engineer's report, and in the opinion of the governing bogy the cost of
such repairs and reconstruction should be borne by the City at large
and that improvement bonds of said city should be issued to pay such
cost; NOW THEhErONE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That that portion of the sanitary sewer lying in
Ash Street between Front Street and Riverside Drive in the City of Salina
Kansas, be repaired or reconstructed to such extent as may be necessary;
that such repairs or reconstruction be done by the City of Salina under
the direction of the City zngineer and that the City Engineer be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to repair and reconstruct
said sewer to such extent as may be necdssary and that after said work
is completed said city engineer shall file with the Board of Commissioners,
a detailed statement of the cost of said work.
Section 2. That the cost of the work provided for in Section 1
of this ordinance shall be paid by the city at large and that there shall
be issued and sold in the manner provided by law, general improvement
bonds of said city in an amount equal to the cost of said work, plus
5 per cent for engineering expenses.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
