AN URDIhANCE amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3623 relating to
the construction of buildings in the City of Salina, and re-
pealing said original section.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of C;Omrnissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3623 be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 4. 1,11_1`l'S OF HEIGHTS AND AREA, 'That except as
specified in Section 30 of Llrdinance 2993, Section 5-230 Revised
Ordinances 1925, no building hereafter erected within the corporate
limits, having walls of hollow building tile or concrete blocks,
shall exceed three stories, or 40 feet in height; and no building
hereafter erected or altered shall exceed four stories or 55 feet
in height, unless it be of fireproof construction when it shall
not exceed ten stories or 125 feet.
The floor area between fire walls of non -fireproof buildings,
except fram, shall not exceed the following; When fronting on one
street, 60000 square feet; when fronting on two streets, 7.500
square feet; and when fronting on three streets, 9,000 square feet.
'hhese area limits may be increased under the following conditions
as indicated;
For no -fireproof buildings, fully equipped with approved auto-
matic sprinklers, 66 2j3%.

Section 2. That original Section 4 of said ordinance No. 3623

An Ordinance amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3623 relating to the
construction of buildings in the City of Salina-, and repealing said
original section.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina
Kansas: ,
SECTION 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3,623 be and the same is
hereby amended -to read as follows:
"Section 4. LIMITS OF HEIGHTS AND AREA. That except as specified
in Section 30 of Ordinance 2993,Section 5-230 Revised Ordinances 1925,
no building hereafter erected within the corporate limits, having walls
Of hollow building tile or concrete blocks, shall exceed three stories,
or 40 feet in height; and no building hereafter erected or altered shall
exceed four stories or 55 feet in height, unless it be of fireproof con-
struction when it shall not exceed ten stories or -125 feet.
The floor area between fire walls of non -fireproof buildings, except
frame, shall not exceed the following: When"fronting on one street, 50000
square feet; when fronting on two streets, 7,500 square feet; and when
fronting on three streets, 9,000 square feet. These area limits may be
increased under the following conditions as indicated:
For non -fireproof buildings, fully equipped with approved automatic
sprinklers, 66 2/3%.
For fireproof buildings, not exceeding 125 feet in height 50%.
For fireproof buildings, not exceeding 125 feet in height, fully
equipped with automatic sprinklers, 100%.11
SECTION 2. That original Section 4 of said ordinance No. 3623 be and
the same is hereby repealed:
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city paper.
