BE III (AKD�INED by the Board of �;on;missioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That no person shall in the City of Salina engage in or conduct, carry on or pursue the occupation, trade, calling or profession of fortune teller, clairvoyant, mind reader, phrenolcEist, palmist, astrologer, or advertise or hold himself out as such, or solicit such. business for himself or another-, or offer to foretell or predict the happening; of future events or tell of past events by means of phrenology, mind reading, fortune telling, palmistry, card reading, clairvoyance, ast.-ology, or otherwise, for pay, whether as a direct charge or as a voluntary contribution, witliout first securing a, license therefor, and paying to the City Clerk a license or occupation tax therefor in the sum of 6.25.00 per day for each day upon which any such pereDn engages in such business or advertises or holds hiriiself out as engaging or bean` ready to engage therein, or solicits such business either for himself or another. Section 2. Upon applic�4tion therefor and nayiiient of the license or occupation tax provided for in Section 1 hereof, the City Clerk shall issue such license, which shall show the name of the person to vihorn issued and the location at which such busir{ess is to be carried on, and such .license shall not be transferable from on person to another or from one location to anot�er. Section 3. nny person who violates any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor ane_ on conviction shall he fined not less than X25.00 nor more than X100.00 or be im- prisoned not to exceed ten days or both, for each offense. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina: Section 1. That no person shall in the City of Salina engage in or conduct, carry on or pursue the occupation; trade, calling or profession of fortune teller, clairvoyant, mind reader, phrenologist, palmist, astrologer, or advertise or hold himself out as such, or W solicit such business for himself or another, or offer to foretell or predict the happening of future events or tell of past events by means of phrenology, mind reading, fortune telling, palmistry, card reading, clairvoyance, astrology, or otherwise, for pay, whether as a direct charge or as a voluntary contribution, without first securing a license therefor, and paying to the City Clerk a license or occupation tax therefor in the sum of $25.00 per day for each day upon which any such person engages in such business or advertises or holds himself out as engaging or being ready to engage therein, or solicits such business either for himself or another. Section 2. Upon application therefor and payment of the license or occupation tax provided for in Section 1 hereof, the City Clerk shall issue such license, which shall show the name of the person to whom issued and the location at which such business is to be carried on, and such license shall not be transferable from one person to another or from one location to another. Section 3. Any person who violates any of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and on conviction shall be fined not less than 6'25.00 nor more than 40100.00 or be imprisoned not to exceed ten days or both, for each offense.
