AN ORDINANCE amending section 3 of Ordinance 2993 being section
5-203 of Revised Ordinances 1925, relating to buildings with-
in the fire limits within the City of Salina and repealing
said original section.
BE IT OhDAIINED by the Board of Comii,issioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas;
Section I -A That section 3 of Ordinance 2993 being Section
5-203 of Revised rdinan ces 1925 be and the same is hereby amended
to read as Poll
"Section 3. 1 at every building hereafter erected or enlarged
within the following district within the fire limits as now defined
by Ordinance, to -wit; Commencing at the intersection of Mulberry
Street with the alley nn
and Fourth Street; then

the district hereinabove described, and ex pt as otherwise here-
inabove provided for, shall be inclosed on 1 sides with walls
constructed wholly of stone, well turned brill., terra cotta, or
concrete, or other equivalent incombustible ma erials, with the

building completely covered with incombustible m\ erial; Provided,

ORDINANCE NO. 3643
AN ORDINANCE amending section 3 of Ordinance 2993 being section
5-203 of Revised Ordinances 1925, relating to buildings
within the fire limits within the City of Salina and re-
pealing said original section.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That section 3 of Ordinance 2993 being Section
5-203 of Revised Ordinances 1925 be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 3. That every buildinghereafter erected or en-
larged within the following district within the fire limits as
now defined by ordinance, to -wit: Commencing at the. -intersection
of Mulberry Street with the alley running north and south between
Fifth Street and Fourth Street; thence west to the intersection of
Mulberry Street with the alley running north and south between
Santa Fe and Seventh Streets thence north along said alleyK to
Walnutthence west to the intersection of Seventh Street #v the
alley running north and south between Seventh and Eighth Streets;
thence north alongsaid alley, and said lley extended, to the

said right-of-way with the alley, extended north, which runs.
north and south between Fourth and Fifth Streets; thence south
along said alley, and said alley extended, to the place of beginning)
and every apartment house or hotel over three stories high, wherever
located within the City of Salina, shall be wholly of fire resisting
construction; and every building hereafter erected.or enlarged with-
in the fire limits as now or hereafter defined by ordinance, but
situated outside of the district hereinabove described, and except
as otherwise hereinabove provided for, shall be inclosed on all
sides wwith walls constructed wholly of stone, well burned brick,
terra-cotta, or concrete, or other equivalent incombustible
materials, with the roof, top and sides and all other exterior
portions of any such building completely covered with IMom-
bustible material; Provided, however that all such buildings
shall in all respects comply with all other ordinances affecting
the same now in force or hereafter adopted."
Section 2. That said original section 3 of Ordinance
2993 being 5-203 of Revised Ordinance 1925 be and the same is
herehy repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and
be,in force after its publication in the official city paper.
