AN ORD I,iltNCE relating to and regulating traffic upon certain public
streets of the Cite of Salina.
BE I'f OhDi lNED by the board of Commissioners of the City of Salina;
Kansas;
Section 1. That during the hours when the traffic control
signals heretofore installed at the intersections of Santa Fe
Avenue and Ash Street, Santa Fe Avenue and Iron Avenue and Santa
Fe and Walnut Street are being operated-, all traffic at such inter-
secti.ns shall be governed by and shall obey the regulations herein-
after contained..
Section 2.
It shall be unlawful for any operator of any
vehicle or for the motorman of any street car, or for any pedestrian,
to disobey the directions of such official traffic control signals,
placed at the intersections above mentioned, unless otherwise
directed by a police officer.
Section 3. Ohenever traffic at any such intersection is
alternately directed to proceed and to stop by the use of signals
exhibiting colored lights or the words "G011, "Caution" and "Stop",
said lights and terms shall indicate, and shall authorize traffic
to proceed as follows, except as provided for in Section 4 of this
Urdinance, to -wit;
(a) Green or "Go" - traffic facing the signal mar proceed,
except that vehicular traffic shall yield the right of way to
pedestrians and vehicles lawfully in a cross walk or intersection
at the time such signal was exhibited.
(b) Yellow or "Caution", when shown following the green or
"Go" - traffic facing the signal shall stop before e:itering the inter-
section unless so close to the intersection that a stop cannot be made
in safety.
(c) Red or "Stop" - traffic facing the signal shall stop
before entering the intersection and remain standing until green or
"Go" is shown alone.
Section 4.
That at intersection where traffic is controlled
by traffic control signals or by police officers, operators of
vehicles shall yield the right of way to pedestrians crossing or
those who have started to cross the roadway, and on a green or 'IGo"
signal and on all other signals pedestrians shall ,yield the right of
way to vehicles lawfully proceeding ahead on a green or "Go" signal.

Section 7. At any intersection where traffic is controlled
by traffic control signals or by police officers, and during the
hours when the traffic at such intersections is so controlled,
traffic shall not be required to obey tile. stop signals placed in
the street at any of such intersections in accordance with Ordinance
No. 3027, but shall be guided solely by the directors of such
traffic control signals or by the direction of such police officer.
Section 8. The City kLanager shall designate the hours during
which such traffic control signals shall be operated, and may make
such changes therein as may be required by the traffic at such
intersections.
Section 9. For the purposes of this ordinance, the word
traffic shall be construed to mean, and to include all vehicles,
street cars and other convenyances while using any street for
purposes of travel, ana including also pedestrians, ridden or
herded anirlals and bicycles.
Section 10. "'hat all ordinances or parts of ordinances
specifically in conflict with the provisions of tilis ordinance
shall be deemed to be inoperative to the extent that they conflict
with the provisions of this orai ,,.ince.
Section 11. That any person who shell violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be fined in anY siarn not exceeding ;6100.00
Section 12. That this ordinance BhRll take effect and be in
force from and after its publication in the ofi'icial city paper.

AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic upon certain public
streets of the City of Salina.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That during the hours when the traffic control

in force from and after its publication in the official city paper.
