AN ORDINANCE levying special ass6ssments against certain property
to pay the cost of constructing certain water service pipes
in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered the
owners of the property hereinafter described to lay water service
pipes from the water mains in the streets abutting thereon at the
back of the curb line in said streets, prior to the paving thereof,
and
WHEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official city
paper of said order and the owners of the property hereinafter des-
cribed did not within 30 days after the last publication of said notice
lay said service pipe and the city laid or caused the same to be laid,
pursuant to section 12-832 to 12-833 has been ascertained, and remains
unpaid by the property owners liable therefor; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed
against each of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter described, a
special tax or assessment for the purpose of paying that part of the
cost of constructing and layi:bg said water service pipes taxable against
such lots and parts of lots, in the various amounts set opposite the
following described lots and parts of lots, to -wit:
Lot 10, Block 3, Depot Addition -----------$28.00
Lot 11, Block 3, Depot Addition --------- 28.00
Lot 3, Block 3, Depot Addition ----------- 15.25
Lot 4, Block 3, Depot Addition ----------- 15.25
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed and author-
ized to immediately certify the assessments made in Section One (1)
of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be
placed upon the tax roll for collection, subject to the same penalties
and collected in like manner as other taxes, with interest at 6% per
annum,
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
