AN ORDINANCE relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving
Park Place from the west line of Oakdale Avenue to the east
line of Oakdale Drive in the "ity of Salina, Kansas, and re-
lating to and providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for the cost of
curbing, guttering and paving nark Place from the west line of
Oakdale Avenue to the east line of Oakdale Drive in the City of
Salina, Kansas, there are hereby levied and a ssessed on the proc,erty
liable therefor, being all the lots and pieces of tround lying on
. either side of said street above mentioned for the distance improved
as aforesaid to the center of the block, according to the appraised
value of such lots and pieces of ground, without regard to the buildings
or improvements thereon, special assessments covering the cost of such
work and improvements, said special assessments being based on the
special valuation and appraisement of said lots and pieces of g round
heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the
Board of Commissioners of the vity of Salina, Kansas, which said
appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance,
and the several amounts levied, apportioned and assessed against such
lots and pieces of ground for the purpose aforesaid are hereby found
and determined to be as follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed
aforesaid shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments,
the first becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1930
and one of said installments falling due each and every year there-
after until all are paid, and all to be collected with interest as in
this ordinance provided; FTOVIDED 110',dFVT_?R, that the owner of any piece
of property liable for any such assessment may redeem his property
from such liability by paying into the City Treasury the entire
amo7int chargeable against the same, as in this ordinance designated,
at any time within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance
and before the issuance of thf, bonds of said citjt in--aymAnt of the
balance of said improv�,ents, ald his property so paid on shall not
thereafter be liable for any further assessments for the cost of
said improvements, nor for any part of said bonds.
Section 3. .there is hereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance
42 per cent interest per annum on all of said installments therein
mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued at the
end of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section hereof,
as by law provided, to the time of collection of the last install-
ment, as provided by law, taThich said interest shall be collected
annually at the same time and in the same manner as said installments
are collected; and after the taking effect of this ordinance it shall
be the duty of the "ity `clerk of said city to annually, at the same
time other taxes are certified, and until all of said assessments
so apportioned and levied herein have been certified, to certify
to the county clerk of Salina County, Kansas, a full list of all
property liable to assessment and taxation for such 1,,pork and
improvement, except such property on �.,hcih the special assessments
aforesaid have been paid in full as her�Anbefore provided, together
with the respective amounts due on each of such lots and pieces of
ground, which amounts shall include the annual installments of such
special assessments together with the interest for one year at the
rate of 42 i' per annum, on all unpaid balances of such assessments
at the beginning of each such year as of oresaid, and such anounts
so certified as herein provided shall be placed upon the tax roll
by the County "lerk of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all
other taxes are collected.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force fr(-m and after its publication once in the official city
paper.

ORDINANCE NO. 3906
An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the
City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and
paving Park Place from the west line of Oakdale Avenue to
the east line of Oakdale Drive in the City of Salina, Kansas,
and relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kans as :
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for the cost
of curbing, guttering and paving Park Place from the west line
of Oakdale Avenue to the east line of Oakdale Drive in the City
of Salina, Kansas, there are hereby levied and assessed on the
property liable therefor, being all the lots and pieces of ground
lying on either side of said street above mentioned for the distance
improved as aforesaid to the center of the block, according to the
appraised value of such lots and pieces of ground, without regard
to the buildings or improvements thereon, special assessments covering
the cost of such work and improvements, said special assessments being
based on the special valuation and appraisement of said lots and
pieces of ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers
appointed by the Board of Conmiissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, which said appraisement is hereby referred to and made a
part of this ordinance, and the several amounts levied, apportioned
and assessed against such lots and pieces of ground for the
purpose aforesaid are hereby found and determined to be as follows:

u7ner of any piece of property liable for any such assessment
nay .redeem his property from such liability by paving into the
My Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same, as
in this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty days
,fter the publication of this ordinance and before the issuance
of the bonds of said city in payment of the balance of said im-
provements, and his propert- so paid on shall not thereafter be
liable for any further assessments for the cost of said improve-
ments, nor for any part of said bonds.
Section 3. There is hereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance
per cent interest per annum on all of said installments
therein mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued
at the end of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section
hereof, as by law provided, to the tine of collection of the last
installment, as provided by _law, which said interest shall be
collected annually at the same time and in the same manner as
said installments are collected; and after the taking effect of
this ordinance it shall be the duty of the City Clerk of said
city to annually, at the same time other taxes are certified,
and until all of said assessments so apportioned and levied here-
in have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas, a full list of all property liable to assessment
and taxation for such work and improvement, except such property
on which the special assessments aforesaid have been paid in full
as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective amounts
due on each of such lots and pieces of ground, which amounts shall
=nclude the annual installments of such special assessments t(c-
