3896 Confirm Street Improvements - Third StORDINANCE NO. 3896 - -- ---- - -- — — �uhl3 shed in tr P Sat_ n A _ _ournal _.. ,tin _ - — - - - 12341-- - - AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with L. W. Rexroad for the construction of certain paving improvements on a cer- tain street in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of L. 1J. Rexroad hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 5, 19309 which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and that contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Magor on May 5th, 1930, for the construction of certain public i-provements in the City of Salina, to -wit: Paving of Third Street from the south line of Iron Avenue south to the high bank of the Smoky Hill River, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3871, at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as sho,�,,n by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said i-provements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engiheer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the N�ayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work z,rogresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to 'year interest not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 31st, 1930, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
