3882 Regulating ParkingORDINANCE NO. 3882 (Published in the Salina Journal AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the parkirp: of vehicles on certain streets and parts thereof, and on bridges, in the City of Salina; providing a penalty for the viol.a.ticn of this ordinance and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance. BE: IT ORDATNFD by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina Kansas: Section 1. It shall be unlawful- for any person to nark or Leave, or cause or permit to be parked or left, at any time, any vehicle on t, -ie east side of Seventh Street between the south lire of Iron Avenue and a point 40 feet south of the south line of Iron Avenue and a point 40 feet south of the south line of lron Avenue. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave, or cause or permit to be parked. or left, any% vehicle for more than fifteen minutes at any one tune and in any one place be- tween the hours of eight o'clock A. M. and six o'clock P. M. on the west side of Seventh Street between the south line of iron Avenue and a point 150 feet south of t're south line of iron Avenue, and on the south side of Iron Avenue from the west line of Seventh Street to the alley running north and south between Seventh Street and Eighth Street; and all cars parked or left on that rortion of Seventh Street last above mentioned shall be uarked parallel with the curb along said portion of said street, with t''e right wheels of such vel-_icles next to and not more than eighteen inches from said curb. Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to nark or leave or cu.ase or permit to be r awed or left any vel-1_icle aving a total length of more than 20 feet or any strut in the Cita* of Salina where diagonal parking of vehicles is required by ordinance, and all vehicles exceeding such lenp-th, when parked or left ir. any street in the city of Salina, S`--lall be parked or left in some portion of a street where narking; parallel with the curb is required by ordirance, and when so narked or left, any such vehicle small ,ave its ri.wht wheels next to and not more than eighteen inches from such curb; provided that any projection or extension from the rear of any ve icle, ,r,1het!ier a part of such vehicle or of the contents there- of or any trailer or other attachment thereto, shall be deemed to be included u,"ithir. the total length of such ve'ricle under the provisions of t�-,is ordinance, and. in the case of horse drawn vehicles the distance from the horses heads to the vehicle shall be inclused in. the length of such vehicle. ) 06 Section 4. It shall be unlawful for an -r person at any time to park or leave or cause or permit to be narked or left, any vehicle on any bridge within the Cit1T of Salina, or on any approach to such bridge. Section 5. The term "vehicle" as used in this ordinance shall - be deemed to include all motor or horse drawn vehicles, trailers, attached thereto, motorcycles and all other vehicles customarily using the streets of said city. Section 6. This ordinance shall not be deemed to apply to the temporary stopping of vehicles in cases of emergency, or to r;ermlt nassenFers or occupants titer -sof to enter or leave the same, or to hermit the loading or unloading of merchandise, where such a stop is not made for a longer period than is necessary for such purpose. Section 7. "ny person who shall violate or cause or permit the violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed �ailty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined in a sum not less than 4"?2.00 nor more than -X25.00 for each violation thereof. Section 8. -11_ ordinances or parts of ordinancds in conflict ;P'7itll anv of the provisions of this ordinance, insofar as they specifi- cally conflict 7ith the .,rovisions hereof, are hereby repealed to the extent they may conflict here-,.,,fith. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict w1th any of the provisions of this ordinance, insofar as they specifi- cally conflict with the provisions hereof, are hereby resealed to the extent they 'ray conflict h-erewith.
