3874 Confirm Street Imp - Santa Fe AvenueLl ORDINANCE NO. 3874 (Published in the Salina Journal `"h„ 1930) V AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and paving improvements on certain streets in the Eity of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof vending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the pro,osal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter re- ferred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Com- missioners on April 7th, 1930, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor Md • signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on April 7th, 1930, for the construction of certain public improvements in the Citv of Salina, to -wit: Paving the unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue in the center of the street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Harsh Street, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3856. Paving the unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue in the center of the street from the north line of Harsh Street to the south line of Otis Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3857. at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, hick proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the Cita* Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. • Section 2. Said i7x)rovements s}tall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said con- tract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 percent per annum and to mature not later than December 31st, 1930, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment, of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be re - 0 44 deemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. BE IT ORDAIDTFD by the Board of Commissioners of the Cit -r of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Com- missioners on April 7th, 1930, which is herebil found and determined to be the lo,%est and best bid for such work, and the. contract olrarded by the Board of t-'ommis�,ioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on April 7th, 1930, for the construction of certain public improvements in the Cit -Nr of Salina, to -wit: Paving the unpaved cortion of Santa Fe Avenue in the center of the street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Harsh Street, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3856. Paving the unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue in the center of the stru=t from the north line of Harsh Street to the south line of Otis Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance No. 3857. at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Olerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3.
