AN ORDINANCE providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $34,287.75
to pay the cost of repairing and reconstructing a cer-
tain part of a certain sewer in the City of Salina.
VHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law?, and
as authorized and provided for by Ordinance No. 3760 of the City
of Salina the work of repairing and reconstructing certain portion
of the main sewer in Ash Street in said city betne-�n Des Moines
Avenue and the Smoky Hill River has been completed and the City
Engineer's final estimate of the cost thereof, including engineer-
ing and incidental expense in connection therewith, has been filed
and approved and the cost therLof has b een found and determined
to be the sum of X34,287.75 for which general bonds of the City
of Salina, Kansas, are to be issued according to laws; NOW THFR'�FORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Com-nissioners of the Cit -T of Salina,
Kansas:
Sect 1. That for the purpose of providing fund to pay

stallments as folio $1967.75 on February 1st, 1931 and

rate of 4z per cent per num, payable seri-annually on the first
days of February and August each year; and to be of denominations
and to mature as follows: Oil bond for $1000.00, one for $500.00
and one bond for 4487.75 each e February lst, 1931, and one bond
for $1000.0r, one for $50,(11.00 an' one for $200.00 each due on
February lst each year thereafter' -p to and including February
1st, 1950.
Section 2. Said bonds shall be` xecuted by the Mayor and

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the City of Salina, in
the County of Saline, State of Kansas, acknowledges itself to be
indebted and for value received hereby promises to pay to the bearer
the sum of
in lawful money of the United States of nmerica, on the first day
of February, 19 , with interest thereon from the date hereof
at the rate of four and one-half per cent per annum, payable semi-
annually on the first days of February and August in each year on
presentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto annexed
as said coupons severally become due, both principal and interest
of this bond being payable at the office of the State Treasurer of
the State of Kansas, in the City of Topeka, Kansas. And said City
of Salina, Kansas, is held and firmly bound by these presents and
the full faith, credit and resources of said city are hereby
irrevocably pledged for the payment of said principal and interest
at maturity.,
This bond is one of a series of 60 bonds of like date and
tenor, excepting denomination and naturity, aggregating the principal
sum of 34,287.75, issued by the City of Salina, Kansas for the
purpose of paying the cost of repairing and reconstructing certain
sewers in said city, by the authority of and in full compliance
with the provisions, restrictions and limitations of the constitution
and laws of the State of Kansas, including Sections 12-617, 12-618;
13-1013, 13-1018 of.the Revised Statutes of Kansas 1923, and amendments
thereto, and Chapter 114 of Laws of 1929, and all other provisions of
the laws of said.state applicable thereto, and this bond and all of
the other bonds of this series, and all interest thereon are to be
paid by the City of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond have been properly done and performed and do
exist in due and regular form and manner as required by the Consti-
tution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total indebted-
ness of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed
any constitutional or statutory limitation.
IN VvITN'i:SS ;`:HEREOF, the said City of Salina, Kansas, has executed
this bond by causing it to be signed by its Mayor and its corporate
seal to be hereto affixed, attested by its City 6lerk, and the coupons
hereto attached to be signed v.ith the fac-simile signatures of said

Section 4. The Payor and City Olerk are hereb- authorized
and directed to prepare and execute the bonds hereinbefore de-
scribed and to advertise and sell the same in the manner provided
by law, and, when duly executed and registered, to deliver said
bonds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, on receipt of
the purchase price.
Secti(,n 5. The full faith, credit and recourses of the
City of Salina, Kansas, shall be, and the same are hereby
irrevocably pledged for the prompt payment of said bonds and
all interest thereon. The Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, shall annually make provision for the payment
of the principal and interest on said bonds as the same become
due by levying taxes and assessments upon the property liable
therefor as provided by law.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after Its publication in the official city paper

AN ORDINANCE providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $34,287.75 to
pay the cost of repairing and reconstructing a certain

WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, and
as authorized and provided for by Ordinance No. 3760 of the City
of Salina the work of repairing and reconstructing certain portion
of the main sewer in Ash Street in said city between Des Moines
Avenue and the Smoky Hill niver has been completed and the City
Engineer's final estimate of the cost thereof, including engineer-
ing and incidental expense in connection therewith, has been filed
and approved and the cost thereof has been found and determined
to be the sum of $34,287.75, for which general bonds of the City
of Salina, Kansas are to be issued according to law; NOW THER'IFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas: y
Section 1. That for the purpose of providing fund to pay
the costs of the improvements hereinbefore described there shall
be and there are hereby issued Internal Improvement Bonds of the
City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of $34,287.75
which shall become due in twenty approximately equal annual in-
stallments as fo'lows: $1987.75 on February lst, 1931 and
$170O.C;0 on February lst in each year thereafter up to and includ-
ing the year 1950, all of said bonds to bear interest at the rate
of 42 per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the first days
of February and August each year; and to be of denominations and
to mature as fo lows: One bond for $1000.00, one for $500.00
and one bond for $487.75 each due February lst, 1931, and one
bond for $1000.00, one for $500.00 and one for $200.00 each due
on February lst each year thereafter up to and including February
lst, 1950.
Section 2. Said bonds shall be executed by the Mayor and
shall be attested by the City Clerk, and the corporate seal of
the City shall be affixed thereto. Said bonds shall have attached
thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon and
said interest coupons shall bear the fac-simile signatures of the
Mayor and City Clerk of said city.
Section 3. Said bonds shall be in the form and shall contain
