AN ORDINANCE amending Section 28 of Ordinance No. 4952 as amended by Section 2
of Ordinance 5008 relating to and regulating taxicabs and taxicab fares,
and repealing said original section as amended.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 28 of Ordinance No. 4952 as amended by Section 2
of Ordinance No. 5008, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows.-
"Section
ollows:"Section 28. That the rates of fare for the transportation of passengers
in taxicabs licensed by the City of Salina for trips wit#in the City of Salina
and where the point of origin or destination of the trip is within the City of
Salina shall be as follows:
(a) For trips within Zone One, which is all the territory within the
city limits bounded on the north by Grand Avenue and Forrest Avenue, on the
south by Prescott Avenue, on the west by Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks,
and on the east by Ohio Street (and the projections of such streets) 151 per
passenger.
(b) For any trip where the point of origin or destination (or both) is
in Zone Two, which is all of the City of Salina outside of Zone One (and premises
immediately adjoining the city limits and within 150 feet of said limits, if on
a paved or surfaced road) 25X for one passenger and 15X for each additional
passenger on and off at the same point.
(c) For any trip to or from Smoky Bill Air Base or Municipal Airport,
(with point of origin or destination within city limits) 75� to Air Base and
50f to Municipal Air Port, for first passenger, and 25¢ for each additional
passenger.
(d) For hire by the hour: X2.00 per hour.
(e) For special cab (no passenger other than those accompanying the
hirer) 5OX within the city limits.
(f) Extra charge for luggage or parcels when accompanied by passenger:
Extra charge for luggage over two pieces of ordinary
hand luggage: for each two extra pieces of hand
luggage same charge as for additional passenger.
For each extra large parcel (not carried in arms of
Oussenger) same charge as for additional passenger.
No more than five passengers shall be carried in one trip at any one time
without the consent of all passengers and in no event shall more than two
passengers be carried in the front seat with the driver, and no luggage or
parcels shall be carried in the front seat with the driver which will obstruct
the driver's vision.

If two or more persons enter a taxicab with different destination points.,
the passengers shall be delivered to their destinations in the order of their
entry into the cab unless the passenger entitled to prior delivery consents
to prior delivery of other passengers.
Every taxicab shall have posted in a conspicuous plac& within the cab
a card showing the rates provided herein and the license number and name of
the owner and driver, printed or in type sufficiently large to be readable
by passengers.
Any charge made to passengers at rates other than those fixed in this
ordinance or any failure to comply with any provisions hereof shall be deemed
a violation of this ordinance and shall subject the driver and owner of the
cab to cancellation of their licenses at the discretion of the Board of Com-
missioners".
Section 2. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5008 and Section 10 of
Ordinance No. 4952 as amended thereby be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and publication in the official city paper.
