City Cler AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4693 as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4972 relating to the licensing of certain music machines or devices. BE IT URDAINEI) by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4693 as amended by Section 1 of I Ordinance No. 4972, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: I "Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person to maintqin or operate 6 1 or permit to be maintained or operated within the City of Salina, either as I principal, agent, lessee, licensee, owner or in any other capacity, any music playing machine or device operated by depositing coins or tokens, without first having secured a license from the City Clerk to engage in such business, trade or occupation, and for the keeping, maintaining and operating of any such device i and without first having paid to the City of Salina the license tax therefor as herein provided for. There is hereby levied on every such person a license tax r I of $7.50 per year for each such machine or device operating and/or playing one or more records with a coin or coins of the value of more than one cent or with any 's token, and $2.50 per year for each such machine or device operating and/or playing j one record with a one cent coin. Such license fees shall be payable at the time 1 such license is issued and every license herein provided for expires on December i 31st in the year in which it is issued. Every license shall show the name of licensee, a description of the machine and the location at which the machine is i y kept and shall not be transferable from one licensee to another or from one loca- tion to another, but may be transferred from one machine to another wnile operated by the licensee at the same location." f Z Section 2. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Coimnissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1, That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4693 as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4972, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1. That it shell be uhlawful for any person to maintain or operate or permit to be maintained or operated within the City of Salina, either as principal, agent, lessee, licensee, owner or in any other capacity, any music playing machine or device operated by depositing coins or tokens, without first having secured a license from the City Clerk to engage in such business, trade or occupation, and for the keeping, maintaining and operating of any such device and without first having paid to the City of Salina the license tax therefor as herein provided for. There is hereby levied on every such person a license tax of $7.50 per year for each such machine or device operating and/or playing one or more records vrith a coin or coins of the value of more than -:.one cent or with any token, and 42.50 per year for each such machine or device operating and/or playing one record with a one cent coin. Every license shall shoe: the name of the licensee, a description of the machine and the location at which the machine is kept and shall not be transferable from one licensee to another or from one location to another, but may be transferred from one machine to another while operated by the licensee at the same locati:n."
