AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1 of Ordinance 2993 beim; Section
5201 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina 1925 re-
lating to permits required under the Building Code.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2993 being E>ection
5201 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina 1925 be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
s "5-201. P ,1 MIT REQUIRED. NATIONAL UNDERWRITERS CODE.
1. No person or persons, corporation or company shall erect or
cause to be erected within the limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas, any structure, building or part thereof unless they shall
have, before proceeding with the erection, enlargement, altera-
tion, repair or removal of any building or structure in the city,
obtained a permit for such erection, enlargement, alteration,
repair or removal from the building inspector, and it shall be
unlawful to proceed with the erection, enlargement, alteration,
repair or removal of any building or structure within the City
unless such permit shall first have been obtained. All buildings
r hereafter erected or altered within the fire limits, shall be
constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the rules
of "The National Board of Underwriters Building Code". Provided
however, that all permits for all structures, buildings or parts
thereof to be erected, enlarged, altered, or repaired within the
limits of the City of Salina which are used or are to be used
for commercial purposes, and all permits for all buildings here-
inafter erected or altered within the fire limits of the City of
Salina must be submitted to and countersigned by the Chief of the
Fire Department.
Section 2. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2993 (being Section
5-201 of Revised Ordinances 1925) be and the same is hereby
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
