ment Bonds of the City of Salina, 11-ansas, in the sum of
"14,628.85 to pay the cost of improving certain streets and
alleys in said city to be designated as Series P-121.
ITi�I'EAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law certain
street and alley improvements have been constructed by the City of
Salina under the direction of its City Engineer according to law
within the estimated cost thereof after the advertisement for and
rejection of bids, no bids having; been received for the construction
of such improver eats within the Encsineer' s estimate, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Seventh Street from the
north line of Pacific Avenue to the south line of Harsh
Street as provided for by Resolution ITo. 711 and Ordinance
No. 4868.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Clark Street from the
so.;th line of Walnut Street to the north line of Spruce
Street as provided for by Resolution No. 712 and Ordinance
No. 4868.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Columbia Avenue from the

the total portion thereof to be paid by a general tax to be levied upon
all taxable property within said city for the improvement of the squares
and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys and for the im-
provement of any of said streets where tree same is through or adjacent
to property of the city and to be paid for by the city at large as pro-
vided by law, for which the city liable and for which bonds will be issued
as hereinafter provided for has been ascertained and is hereby determined
to be the sum of X3577.56 and it is hereby found and determined that the
repair and general improvement funds are insufficient to meet the cost
and expense of such portion of any of said improvements as might other-
wise be paid therefrom; and
'.'VHEREAS, that portion of the cost of said improvements to be paid b -r
special assessments levied upon the lots and nieces of ground liable
for the payment of said improvements has been ascertained and is hereby
found and determined to be the sum of y'13,756.57, which said last ariount
has heretofore been duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots
and pieces of mound liable therefor, payable in installments according
to law and as provided in t'.e ordinances of said city relating thereto
duly passed and a,)proved, of which amount the sum of % 2, 705.28 has been
paid to the city by the owners of property liable therefor, leaving a
balance of said sum for which bonds shall be issued in the sizi of
N11,051.29; and

issued exclusive of the mounts heretofore paid in cash by the property
owners has been and is now hereby determined to be the sum of y`14,628.85;

BE IT ORDAI11EID by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas'.
Section 1. That the foregoing preambles be and they are hereby
adopted as a part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of pro-
viding funds to pay the cost of the improvements herein above referred

to and described in the ordinances and resolutions hereinbefore referred
to, there shall be issued Internal Improvement 7:3onds of the City of Sa_l_ina,
Kansas, in the total principal sura of 614,62S.85 which shall consist of
30 ,ponds nuribered from one to 30 inclusive, all dated March lot, 1939,
which shall bear interest at the rate of 1i per cent per annum frori and
after said date until the respective maturities of said :ponds, payable
semi-annually, said interest to be evidenced by interest coupons as here-
in provided for and said bonds shall beco -e due serially in denominationa

of issued by the City of Salida, Kansas, for
the purpose of paying the cost of constructing certain paving, curb-
ing, and guttering improvements in said city by the authority of and
in full compliance with the provisions, restfictions and limitations
of the constitution and laws of the State of Kansas, including
Sections 10-101 to 10-115, 12-601 to 12-608, and 13-1011 and 1011a,
General Statutes of Kansas 1935, and such sections as amended, and
all other ,provisions of the laws of said state applicable thereto,
and this bond and all other bonds of this series, and all interest
thereon are to be paid by the City of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond have been properly done and performed and do
exist in due and regular form and manner as required by the consti-
tution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total indebted-
ness of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed
any constitutional or statutory limitation.

pledged for the prompt payment of said bonds and all interest
thereon. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
shall annually make provision of the payment of the principal and
interest on said bonds as the same become due by levying taxes
and assessments upon the property liable therefor as provided by
law.

AN ORDINANCE providing for and authorizing tie issuance of
Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of $ 14,628.65 to pay the cost of improving cer-
tain streets and alleys in said city to be designated as
Series P-121.
WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law certain
street and alley improvements have been constructed by the City of
Salina under the direction of its City Engineer according to law
within the estimated cost thereof after the advertisement for and
rejection of bids, no bids having been received for the construc-
