AN ORDINANCE authorizing the issuance of bonds of the City of Salina
Kansas, in the sum of Forty-eight Thousand Dollars (048,000.60)
for the purpose of taking up and refunding a like amount of out-
standing bonded indebtedness of said city.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, State
of Kansas
Section 1. That for the ,purpose of paying, taking up and refund-
ing the following described bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas:
071000 Salina, Kansas, 4 3/4% Storm Sewer Bonds
dated Oct. lst, 1929, #s 65,66 67,68,69,
70 and 71, in denomination of X1,000 each
maturing Oct. 1st, 1939, (Ser. 92)
07,000 Salina, Kansas, 4 1/2% Cash Basis Bonds
dated June 1st, 1933, #s 29030 31,32,33,
34 and 35, in denomination of 1,000 each
maturing Oct. 1st, 1939, (Ser. 103)
05,000 Salina, Kansas, 3 1/2;a Storm Sewer Bonds
dated Aug. 1st, 1934, #s 19,20,21,22 and

8,000 Salina, Kansas, 3 Refunding Bonds, dated

07,000 Salina, Kansas, 20 Refunding Bonds, dated
Jan 1st, 1938, #s 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7, in
denomination of _01,000, maturing July 1st,
1939, (Ser. R-115),
issued under authority of said City, the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to issue the bonds of said City, not exceeding the aggregate
amount of the above indebtedness refunded under the provisions of and
in accordance with Chapter 83, Session Laws of the State of Kansas, 1937,
as amended by Chapter 14 of the Laws of Kansas, Special Session of 1938.
Section 2. That the bonds issued under authority of this
Ordinance shall be dated March 1st, 1939; and shall be issued in the
amount of 048,000.00; shall bear interest at the rate of 1 1/25 per
annum, payable semi-annually on the lst day of January and July of each

year (coupon #1 becomes due and payable on January 1st, 1940) for which
coupons shall be attached which shall be numbered to correspond with the
bonds to which they belong. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Clerk under the seal of said City. The interest
coupons attached to said bonds shall bear the lithographed signatures
of the Mayor and City Clark.
Section 3. That all the bonds and interest coupons attached

thereto, issued under authority of this Ordinance shall be payable at

the office of the State 'Treasurer in the City of Topeka, Kansas.
Section 4. That the bonds to be issued under authority of this
Ordinance shall be sold or exchanged for outstanding bonds at not
less than par; shall contain the usual recitals; shall be numbered
from 1 to 48, both inclusive, shall be in the denominations and shall
be due and payable as follows:

Section 5. The City Clerk shall keep a record of all bonds
issued under this Ordinance showing the date, number and amounts
thereof, and to whom issued,and shall make and enter a record of
every bond refunded under the provisions of this Ordinance, all in
accordance with the provisions of the Act under which the Refunding
Bonds are issued.
Section 6. The City of Salina hereby assumes and promises the
holders of bonds issued under this Ordinance that the said City w1ll
make prompt payment of the bonds and coupons authorized and it is here-
by made the duty of the Miayor and Board of Corriissioners to levy
annually at the time of making the levy of other city taxes, a tax
sufficient to pay the interest of said bonds issued under this
Ordinance. The said Llayor and Board of Commissioners shall also
levy each year at the time of Making the levy of other city taxes
a tax suffident to pay the bonds issued under this Ordinance as they
become due and payable.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication in the official
city paper, the Salina Journal.

Ordinance. The said Mayor and Board of Commissioners shall also levy each
year at the time of making the levy of other city taxes a tax sufficient
to pay the bonds issued under this Ordinance as they become due and payable.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall be in force and take
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the
official city paper, the Salina Journal.
