All ORDI'vANCE providing for the calling and holding of an election of thequali-
fied electors of the City of Salina, Kansas, to vote upon the question of
authorizing theBoard of Commissioners of said city to issue bonds of the
city in the amount of $475,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of
building a system of works, without the city, for the treatment and disposal
of the sewage of said city.
;WHEREAS, the Loard of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, deem it nee-
essary to provide for the building of a system of works, without said city, for
the treatment and disposal of the se,.,, -age of said city; and
VHEREAS, the cost of building a system of works, without the city, for the treat-
ment and disposal of the sev;age of the City of Salina will not exceed the esti:uated
amount of 4475,000.00; and
V,HEREAS, it is necessary to issue general obligation bonds of the city payable
by a general tax to pay the cost of said sewage disposal ivorks; and
AREAS, it is necessary before said bonds may be legally issued to submit the
proposition of issuing the same for said purpose to the qualified electors of
said city at an election to be held within 30 days from the date of the adoption
and publication of this ordinance; and
'.13EREAS, the City of Salina is a city of the first class; and
HJFREAS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated will not create
a debt in excess of the limit now provided by law; and so, NTOW i E-REFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the -Joard of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the preambles of this ordinance are hereby incorporated
herein and that an election is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina,
Kansas, Tuesday, June 24, 1947, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A. M. and
7:00 P. Yy:. of said day, and within 30 days after the adoption and ublication
of this ordinance according to law and that such election shall be: held at the
usual place of holding elections and shall be conducted by the officers or per-
sons provided by law for holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and
that a majority of theBoard of Coiriaissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
being the governing body thereof, shall and are hereby ordered and directed to
publish notice of said election in the manner and form directed andrequired by
section 10-120 General Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and that the purpose of calling
said election is to submit to the qualified electors of said city the proposition
of the issuing of general obli;-ation bonds of said city, payable by a general tax
levy, in the amount of $475,000.00 to pay the cost of building a system of works,
without the city, for the treatment and disposal of the sewage of said city, as more
particularly set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors
of said city at said election shall be substantially the following:

out the city, for the treatment and disposal of the sewage of

square after the word *yes'.
To vote against the bonds, make a cross x mark in the
