AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading
improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and
sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of H. J.
Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted
to the Board of Commissioners on September 16, 1946, which is hereby found to be the
lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners
of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on
September 16, 1946, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City
(6) Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Walnut Street
from the east line of the Missouri Pacific Right-of-way
or end of existing pavement, thence w<st across said
railroad hacks to the west line of Clark Street, running
north from Walnut Street in said city, as provided by
Ordinance No. 5174.
(7) Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Gypsum Avenue
from the east line of Delaware Avenue to the east line

of Missouri Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5174.
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which pro-
posal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be
and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the
estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City
Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby
referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to
and made parts of this ordinance.
Section3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and
form as required by law, the total amount thereof not td exceed the contract
price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4 1/2 per cent
of Salina,
to -wit:

Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue
from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of
Johnstown Avenue, asprovided by Ordinance No. 5174.
(2)
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Front Street
from the south line of North Street to the north .line of
Lincoln Street, as provided by Ordinance No. 5174.
(3)
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Grand Avenue
from the West line of Santa Fe Avenue to the wrest line
of Eighth Street, as provided by Ordinance No. 5174.

Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Twelfth Street
from the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line

of Washington Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5174.

from the east line of Seventh Street to the east line of
Ninth Street, as provided by Ordinance Into. 5174.
(6) Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Walnut Street
from the east line of the Missouri Pacific Right-of-way

amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be --
issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent
bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the official city paper.

from the east line of Delaware Avenue to the east line
of P,lissouri Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5174.
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which
proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordin-
ance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being
within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn esti-
mates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which
estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
