Taylor Construction Company for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 209, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City ofal:i.na, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Co:pany, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor", as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 24, 1946, which is hereby Found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its I',iayor on June 24th, 1946, for the construction bf certain public i-proveiients in the City of Salina, to -wit: Construction of an 8" V. C, P. Lateral Sanitary Sewer, with all necessary connections, manholes, flush tan:�.s and other appurtenances, beginning at a manhole to be constructed at a point on an existing sanitary sewer in the alley between Fourth Street and Fifth Street, and five (5) feet south of the north line of Lincoln Avenue; thence with an eight (8) indh sanitary sewer in a southwesterly direction 350 feet, more or less, to a point which is in the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street and 320 feet north of the north line of North Street at which point a manhole will be constructed, thence as an eight -inch (8") sewer lateral due north along the center line of said alley between Fifth Street and Santa Fe Avenue, for a distance of 135 feet, more or less, to the terminus, and thence beginning at said manhole to be constructed in said alley 320 feet north of the north line of North Street, due south along the center line of said alley, between Filth Street and Santa Fe Avenue, a distance of 300 feet, more or less, to the terminus, at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is heeeby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordin- ance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance ;with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the tens of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and r,:ade parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to tide as the work progresses in the runner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof mot to exceed the contract price for such i ,work, such notes to beear interest at not to exceed 4 1/2 per cent; per annum and to mature :not later than November 1, 1946, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
