5112 Confirm Clark Street Improvementse - ORDINANCE N0. 5112 Published in the Salina Journal 1945) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the paving of Clark Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Spruce Street for a width of 24 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; the paving of Sheridan Street from the north line of Republic Avenue to the south line of Wilson Street for a width of 28 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; for the curbing, gutter- ing, and paving of Han000k Street from the north line of Illinois Street to the north line of Venango Street for a width of 28 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; for the curbing, guttering, and grading of Spruce Street from the west line of Clark Street to the east line of Missouri Pacific right-of-way; for the paving of Spruce Street from the west line of Clark Street to the east line of the Missouri Pacific right-of-way for a width of 23 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; for the paving of Spruce Street from the east line of the Missouri Pacific right-of-way to the west line of College Avenue for a width of 27 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; and for the paving of Twelfth Street from the north line of North Street to the south line of Lincoln Ave- nue for a width of 28 feet with 6" reinforced concrete; and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of R. Jo Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as "the contraoto" was submitted to the Board of Commissioners on the 17th day of September, 1945, for the construction of said public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit; Paving of Clark Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Spruce Street for a width of 241 with 6" reinforced concrete; the paving of Sheridan Street from the north line of Republic Avenue to the south line of 'Nilson Street for a width of 281 with 6" reinforced concrete; for the curbing, guttering, and paving of Hancock Street from the north line of Illinois Street to the north line of Venango Street for a width of 281 with 6" reinforced concrete; for the curbing, guttering, and grading of Spruce Street from the wast line of Clark Street to the east line of the Missouri Pacific right-of-way; for the paving of Spruce Street from the west line of Clark Street to the east line of the Missouri Pacific right-of-way for a width of 231 with 6" rein- forced concrete; for the aLving of Spruce Street from the east line of Missouri Pacific right-of-way to the west line of College Avenue for a width of 271 with 6" reinforced concrete; and for the A ving of Twelfth Street from the north line of North Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue for a width of 281 with 6" rein- forced concrete; as provided in Ordinance No. 5107 at and for the unit price of said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this Ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of -said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this Ordinance. Section 2. The improvements shall be built and constructed according to the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made part of this ordinance* 1 1 1 I Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed one percent per annum and to mature not later i than December 31, 1945, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are f issued in lieu thereof. i Section 4.
