AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sani-
tary Sewer District No. 203 in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance
of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H.
J. Taylor, d/b/a The H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to
as "the contractor", as submitted to the Board of Cor-iissioners on the 8th day of
Tr1ay, 1945, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for
such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to

said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on the 6th day of
August, 1945, for the construction of said public improvements in the City of

Salina, to -wit:
A Lateral Sanitary Sewer in a certain benefit District No. 203, being
1 Lots 5, 5 and 7, Block 19 in Pacific Addition and Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9,
11, 15, and 17, Block 1, in Crowthers Addition as provided in Ordinance
No. 5078 and beginning at a new manhole in an existing 12" sanitary sewer
main in Grand Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, thence running south
through Block 5 in Block 19, Pacific Addition and continuing south in a
public alley, a distance of 600 feet, more or less, to a cleanout and the
end of the sewer;
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this grdinance, by and the
same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estzated
cost of said improvements as shoUrn by the sworn estina.tes of the City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk, whit# estimates are hereby referred to and
made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineers on file
in the office of the City Clerk, and in accordance with the proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of vilich are hereby referred to
and made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes sighed by the jAayor and attested by the City
Clerk, be issued from tune to time as the work progresses in the manner and form
as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for

such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to
mature not later than December 31, 1945, are to be issued in such amounts and at
such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be re,cuired, such
notice to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time
that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its publication in the official city paper.
