5085 Issue GO Bonds, Series P-133ORDINANCE N0. 5085 (Published in the Salina Journal / 1945) AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $10,010.01, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said city to be designated as series 1=133. WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been let and performed for the construction of the following street improvements in theCity of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving of Highland Circle from the north line of Beloit Avenue to the south line of Republic Avenue as provided by Ordinance No. 5063; Paving of Republic Avenue from the west line of Sherman Avenue to the west line of Eleventh Street as provided by Ordinance No. 5063; Paving of Park Street from the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks to the east line of Chicago Street as provided by Ordinance No. 5065; and Paving Park Street from the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks east approximate y719 -feet to join the existing brick paving as provided by the Ordinance No. 5073; and WHEREAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained and the portion thereof in the amount of $3176.84 to be paid by general taxes to be levied upon the taxable property within said city for the improvement of squares and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys and for the improvement of any of said streets where the same is through or adjacent to property of the City for which the city is liable, and for which the city is paying cash; and WHEREAS, the total cost of said paving of said streets which are to be paved by special assessments and to be levied upon lots and pieces of ground liable for the payment of said paving in said streets, has been ascertained and has been hereby found and determined to be the sum of $12,040.18, which amount has been heretofore duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable therefore according to law provided for in the Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, relat- ing thereto, duly passed and approved, of which amount the sum of $2030.17 has been paid by the property owners therefore, leaving a balance of $10,010.01, for which bonds are to be issued, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the foregoing preambles be and they are hereby authorized as part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improvements hereinbefore referred to and described in the ordinances and resultions hereinbefore referred to, there shall be issued internal improvement bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of $10,010.01, which shall consist of 20 bonds numbered from 1 to 20 inclusive, all dated April 1, 1945, which shall bear interest at the rate of one (1%) per cent per annum from and after said &te until the respective maturities of said bonds, payable semi-annually on October 1st and April 1st of each year, said interest to be evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for, and said bonds shall become due as follows: No. 1 for $510.01 and No. s for $500.00 due April 1, 1946 Nos. 3 and 4 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1947 Nos. 5 and 6 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1948 Nos. 7 and 8 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1949 Nos. 9 and 10 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1950 Nos. 11 and 12 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1951 Nos. 13 and 14 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1952 Nos. 15 and 16 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1953 Nos. 17 and 18 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1954 Nos. 19 and 20 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1955 fl 1 1 I Section 2, Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be attested I by the signature of the City Clerk and corporate seal of the City shall be affixed thereto and said bonds shall have attached thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon, which coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear the printed or lithographed facsimile signature of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city and said bonds and interest coupons shall be registered in the office I of the City Clerk and in the office of the Auditor of State, as required by law. Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series P-133 and shall be I in the form and shall contain recitals required by law and as provided by Resolution j 879 duly adopted. Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to prepare and execute the bonds hereinbefdre described and to advertise and sell the i same in the manner provided by law, and when duly executed and registered to deliver said bonds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof. Section 5. The full faith, credit and resources of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be, and the same are hereby irrevocably pledged for the prompt pay- ment of said bonds and all interest thereon. The Board of Commiss'.oners of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall annually make provision for the payment of the principal and interest on said bonds as the same become due by levying taxes and assessments upon the property liable therefore as provided by law.
