5083 Issue GO Bonds Series S-131ORDINANCE N0. 5083 (Published in the Salina Journal f 1945) AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of improvement bonds in the City of Salina in the sum of $7780.67 to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said city to be designated as Series S-131. WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been let and performed for theconstruction of the following street improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Construction and building of Lateral Sanitary Sower in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Dis- trict No. 196 as provided by Ordinance No. 5066; Construction and building of Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Dis- trict No. 197 as provided by Ordinance No. 5066; Construction and building of Lateral Sanitary Sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Dis- trict No. 199 as provided by Ordinance No. 5072; and, WHEREAS, the total cost of said sewers constructed in the districts above mentioned and to be paid by special assessments levied upon lots and pieces of ground liable for the payment of said sewers in the said sewer districts above mentioned, has been ascertained and is hereby found and determined to be the sun of $9472.26, Wiioh amount has been here- tofore duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable therefore according to law and as provided for in the Ordinances of the City of Salina relating thereto of which amount the sum of $1691.59 has been paid by the owners of property liable therefore, leaving a balance for which bonds will be issued in the sum of $7780.67, NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina Kansas: Section 1. That the foregoing preambles are hereby adopted and made a part of this Ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improve - meats hereinbefore described, there shall be issued and there hereby are issued Internal Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of $7780.67, which issue shall consist of 16 bonds numbered 1 to 16 inclusive, all dated April 1, 1945, which shall bear interest at the rate One (1%) per cent per annum from and after said date until the respective maturities of said bonds, payable semi-annually on October 1st and April 1st of each year, said interest to be evidence by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become due serially in denomination, as follows: Nos. 1, 2, 3 for $500.00 each, and No. 4 for $280.67, due April 1, 1946 Nos. 5, 6, 7, and 8 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1947 Nos. 9, 10, 11 and 12 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1948 Nos. 13, 14, 15 and 16 for $500.00 each, due April 1, 1949 Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be attested by the signature of the City Clerk and the corporate seal of the City shall be affixed hhereto, and shall have attached thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon, which coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear the printed or lithographed facsimile signatures of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city and said bonds and in- terest coupons shall be registered in the offices of the City Clerk and the State Auditor as required by law. Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series S-131 and be in the form and shall contain recitals required by law and as provided by Resolution No. 877 duly adopted. I � f! I Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to 4 prepare and execute the bonds hereinbefore described and to advertise and sell i the same in the manner provided by law, and when duly executed and registered z to deliver said bonds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof. Section 5. The full faith, credit and resources of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be, and the same are hereby irrevocably pledged for the prompt payment of said bonds and all interest thereon. The Board of Commissioners of i the City of Salina, Kansas, shall annually make provision of the payment of the i principal and interest on said bonds as the same become due by levying taxes and s assessments upcn the property liable therefore as provided by law.
