AN ORDL�iAivCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading i:.2prove-
ments on certain streets in the City of Salina and providing for the issuance
of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H.
Taylor, dAA The H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the
"contractor" as submitted to the Board of Cocn!nissioners on the 5th day of June 1944,

which is hereby fou d and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and
the con-ract awarded by the ''oard of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and
signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on June 5, 1944, for the construction of
certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Curbing and guttering and grading of Claflin Avenue from the west line of Ninth
Street west approxiras.tely 1016 feet to the west line of Lot 13, Block 1, Evergreen
Park Addition, as provided in Ordinance No. 5051.
Curbing and guttering and grading of Iderrill Street from the south line of Wilson
Street to the north line of Republic Avenue, as provided in Ordinance No. 5051.
Curbing and guttering and grading of Pershing Street from the south line of Jewell
Avenue to the north line of Kirwin Avenue as provided by Ordinance No. 5051.
Curbing and guttering and grading of the north side of Republic Avenue from the

west line of Sheridan Street to the east line of Hancock Street as provided by Urdinance
No. 5051.
Curbing and gutte ing and grading of Spruce Street from the west line of College
Avenue to the east line of the Missouri Pacific railroad-right-ofway as provided by
Ordinance No. 5051.
Curbing and guttering and grading of Spruce Street from the east line of College
Avenue to the west line of Phillips Street, as provided by Ordinance No. 5051,
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this Ordinance, be and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the :_sti:mated cost of said
improve::,ents as shown by the sworn estimates of the City engineer on file in the ofl ice
of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed La accordance with the
plans and specifications therefor prepared by theCity Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
be issued from time to time as the vrork progresses in the manner and form as required
by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the cont Pact price for such work, such

notes to bear interest not to exceed 1/o per annum and to mature not later than
i
at such tine as money for
October 17th, 1944, and to be issued in such amounts and
the pay:ient of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said -
contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that pe anent bonds are issued
in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its publication in the official city paper.

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construc-
ts n Company for the construction of certain curbingk guttering and grading
improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance
and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansass

may be required, such notes to be issued to said ccn tractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This crdinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city paper.
