All ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor �;onstruction
Company for the construction of a certain lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral
Sanitary Sewer District No. 191 in the City of Salina, and providing for
the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the
Issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptepce of the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J.
Taylor, dA/a The H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the
ti contractor", as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on the 6th day of December,
1943, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such
work, and the contract awarded by the °oard of Commissioners of said City to said
contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on December 6th, 1943, for
the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit:
A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benefit district, being Lots Two (2) to
Five (5), both inclusive, in Surveyor's Plat Twelve (12) in the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, Kansas, as provided in Ordinance No. 5038, and beginning at a point
1322 feet south of the northeast corner of said Lot Two (2), thence fifteen (15) feet
due east thereof onuhio Street, thence due west five hundred eighty-five (585) feet to
a point forty-four (44) feet east of the west line of said Lot Five (5).
At and for the unit prive of said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improve-
ments as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the
City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 11. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with
the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer or file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and
under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance.
Section 111. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time
to time as the work progresses in
the manner and form as
required by law, the total
amount thereof not to exceed the
contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest
not to exceed 4z% per annum and to mature not later
than April 1, 1944, and to
be issued in such amounts and at
such time as money for the
payment of thecost of such
work may be required, such notes
to be issued to said con-
tractor and to be redeemed

annum and to mature not later than April 1, 1944 , and to be issued in such
amounts end at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work
may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
SEC TION I'V. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city paper.
