Banker, City Clerk AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A CURFEW IN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, prohibiting { and making it unlawful for persons under the age of 16 years to wander, about streets, sidewalks, lounge, loaf, loiter or play in, upon or public alleys, or public places within the City of Salina, Kansas, after the hour of 10:30 o'clock P. M., or before 6 o'clock A. M., making it unlawful for the parent or guardian of any such child knowingly to suffer or permit any such child to wander, lounge, loaf, loiter or play, and providing a penalty for the violation of the rovisions of this ordinance, and providing for the repeal of Sections One (l, Two (2) and Four (4) of Ordinance No. 965. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, as follows; Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 16 years to wander, or lounge, or loaf, or loiter, or play in, upon or about any public street, i sidewalk, alley, vacant lot, public square, or public place within the City of Salina, Kansas, after the hour of 10:30 o'clock P. M., and before 6 o'clock A. M., unless such child is accompanied by a parent, a legal guardian, or other person having legal custody of such child or unless such child is engaged in the performance of an errand or duty, directed by a parent, guardian or legal custodian, pursuant r to a written statement dated the day such errand or duty is being performed, and signed by such parent, guardian or legal custodian directing such child to perform ' a bona fide errand or mission for such parent, guardian, or legal custodian, or, unless such child is proceeding pursuant to the scope of lawful employment. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian, or other person lawfully entitled to the care, custody and control of any child under the age of i 16 years, to knowingly suffer or permit any such child under the age of 16 years, unless such child is accompanied by a parent, or legal guardian, or other person lawfully entitled to such child's care, custody and control, to wander, or lounge, or loaf, or loiter, or play in, upon, or about any public street, sidewalk, alley, vacant lot, public square, or public place within the City of Salina, Kansas, after E the hour of 10;30 o'clock P. M., and before the hour of 6 o'clock A. M. I Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding One Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($100.00). Section 4. Sections One (1), Two(2), and Four (4) of Ordinance No. 965, being sections 15-132, 15-133 and 15-134, respectively, Revised Ordinances of 1939, and any other ordinances or parts thereof specifically in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.
