Section 2. That the City Clerk os hereby directed and
authorized to
innediately certify the assessments made in Section One (1) of this ordinance
to the Co°nty Clerk of Saline Counby, Kansas to be placed
upon the tax roll
for collect4on, subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner
as other taxes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
fullforce from and
after its publication once in the official city paper.

ORDINANCE NO. 5244
AN ORDINANCE levying special assessment against certain property to pay the
cost of constructing certain water service pipes in certain streets
in the City of Salina, Kansas.
VVHE.REAS, the Hoard of Commissicners have heretofore ordered the owners of the
property hereinafter described to lay :nater service pipes from the water mains
in the streets abutting thereon at the back of the curb line in said streets,
prior to the paving thereof, and
WHEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official city paper of
said order and the owners of the property hereinafter described did not within
30 days after the last publicati,:n of said notice lay said water service pipe
and the city laid or caused the same to be laid, pursuant to section 12-832
to 12-833 of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and the cost thereof has
been ascertained, and remains unpaid b- the property owners liable therefor,
NO?t THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereb;, levied and assessed
against each of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter described, a special
tax or assessment for the purpose of paying that part of the cost of construe*-
ing and laying said water service pipes taxable against such lots and parts

ance to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas to be placed upon the tax
roll for collection, subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner

force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
