That the preambles of tris ordinance are hereby incorporated herein. That a bus, for the purposes of this ordinance is defined to be any motor vehicle autriorized under franchise granted by the City of Salina, Kansas, which is propelled by motor power and w,-,ich is used to convey passengers, for hire, over or. on the streets of the City of Salina, Kansas, and which vehicle has a capacity for ten (10) persons or more. 1 1 Section 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person to ignite a match, lighter or to smoke a cigarette, a cigar, a pipe or any other item or thing on any bus within the City of Salina, Kansas. Section_ 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding 450.00. Section 4. WH�'REAS, busses operated within the City of Salina are frequently crowdedwith passengers; and, YEAS, certain persons riding within busses carry or wear combustible materials; and, WTMF,AS, ignition of matches, lighters and smoking of cigarettes, pipes, cigars or any other material within said busses constitutes a hazard to health; and WHEdEAS, it is deemed adviseable to prohibit the igniting of matches and lighters and to prohibit smoking within such busses to protect the health of persons riding the same; and SO, M1 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDA FNED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1.
