All ORDIwANCE ratifying and confirming a contract ,,rith the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain, curbing, guttering and grading im-
provements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the
issuance of tem-)orary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance
and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAIPIED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor"
as sLiomitted to the Board of Co_-imissioners on September 16, 1946, which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such T,cork, and the contract awarded by the
Board of Commissioners of taid city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the
City of Salina by its b1a7;,ror on September 16, 1946, for the construction of certain
public improvements in the City of Salina, to -grit:
Curbing, ;uttering and grading of Illinois Street
from the west line of Sherman Street to the east
line of Sheridan Street, as provided by Ordinance
Plumber 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of North Street
from the west line of Second Street to the west
line of Front Street, as provided by Ordinance
Plumber 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Third Street
from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the north
line of Forest Avenue, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5175.
Curbing, zuttering and grading of Twelfth Street
from the south line of Lincoln Avenue to the north
line of Grand Avenue and of Lincoln Avenue from the
east line of TWelfth Street to the west line of
Thirteenth Street, as provided by Ordinance Number
5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Tenth Street
from the south line of Harsh Street to the south
line of Hamilton Avenue, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5175.
Curbing, zuttering and grading of Funston A enue
from the south line of Ellsworth A,,enue, thence
south to the north line of Jewell A enue, as pro-
vided by Ordinance Number 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of North Street
from the east line of Fourth Street, thence east
to the west line of Second Street, ,,.s provided by
Ordinance Number 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Eighth Street
from the south line of Otis Avenue, thence south
to the north line of Antrim ATenue, as provided
by Ordinance Number 5175.
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which pro-
posal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be
and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, :aid proposal being within the
esti:.Iated cost of said improvements as shown bjthe sworn estimates of the City
Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby
referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be 'built and constructed in accordance
,;ith the plans and specificatios therefor prepared by the City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of
said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby
referred to and rdade parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temnor ry notes gigned by the ,Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk be issued from time to tir:e as the ,rock progresses in the manner and
form as re uired by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract
price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 41 per cent per
annuri and to mature not later than January 15, 1948, and to be issued in such
amounts and at such ti:ie as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to
be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that
permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its i-Mblication in the official city paper.

ORDINANCE NUMBER 5235
AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the 11. J. Taylor
Construction Company for the construction of certain, curbing, gutterint and
grading improvements on. certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing
for the issuance of temporary notes to pair the cost thereof pending; the issuance
and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
SECTION 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the
H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 16th, 1946, which is
hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract
awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and sign-
ed on behalf of the city of Salina by its Mayor on September 16th, 1946, for the
construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Illinois Street
from the west line of Sherman Street to the east
line of Sheridan Street, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of North Street
from the west line of Second Street to the west
line of Front Street, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5175.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Third Street

estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City
Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby
referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of
said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby
referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form
as required b7r law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price
for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4t per cent per annum
and to mature not later than January 15, 1948, and to be issued in such amounts and
at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to
said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent
bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall ts.ke effect and be in force from, and after
its publication in the official city paper.
