5318 Confirm Street ImprovementsORDINAPCE NUMBER 5318 ____(Published in the Salina Journal 1948) A4 ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Con- struction Company for the construction of certain paving and grading improve- ments on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issu- ance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,Kansast Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 7th 1948 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by its Mayor on June 21st 1948 for the construction of certain I public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: i jPaving and grading Beloit Street from the west line of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne Street as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Chicago Str"et from the north line of Ash Street to the north line of Park Street as provided bzT Ordinance Number 5294. I Paving and grading Fifth Street from the south line of Grand Avenue to the north line of Wood- land Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Fourth Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the south line of Forest Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Front Street from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Grand Avenue from the west line of Eighth Street to the east line of Ninth Street as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Grand Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Tenth Street as -provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Grand Avenue from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Fifth Street as provided by Ordinance Numbdr 5294. Paving and grading Tenth Street from the south line of Harsh Avenue to the north line of Ham- ilton Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5294. Paving and grading Woodland Avenue from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Fourth Street as p' ovided by Ordinance Num- ber 5294. at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being with- in the estira ted cost of said improvements as shoTm by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. 1 F� I Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accord- ance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer i on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal i of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the i manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4� per cent per annum and to mature not later thar jJune 21st, 1919 and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof .
