5317 Confirm Street ImprovementsF, r ORDIN,UPICEN[TA ER 5317 (Published in the Salina Journal NU', r'� , 19 48) i AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Con- struction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and pro- viding for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas of the proposal of the H. J. Traylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 7, 1948, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and I the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said con- i tractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on June 21, I 1948 for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to wit: Curbing, guttering, paving and -xading of Nort'r•_ Court Place from the north line of Beloit Street thence northeast to the cen- ter line of Republic Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5295. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Morrison Avenue from the east line of Twelfth Street to the west line of Phillips Street as provided by Ordinance Number 5295. at and for the unit prices .for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estir-ates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4� per cent per annum and to mature not later than June 21st $1949, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
