BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "con-
tractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 7th , 1948
which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid forsuch work, and the
contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor
and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by its Mayor on Julie 21st , 1948
for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina,
Kansas, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Antrim Avenue
from the center line of Santa Fe Avenue to the
center line of Third Street, as provided by Ord-
inance Number 5293.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Antrim Avenue
from the west line of Ninth Street to the cen-
ter line of Eleventh Street, as provided by Ord-
inance Number 5293.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Antrim Avenue
from the center line of Eighth Street to the
center line of Ninth Street, as provided by Ord-
inance Number 5293.
Curbing, guttering and grading of the north side
of Claflin Avenue from a point 10 feet west of
the southwest corner of Lot 20, Block 2, Pleas-
ant View Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas,

AN CRDINANCE ratifying and confirming a
contract with the
H. J. Taylor Con-
struction Company for the construction
of certain curbing,
guttering and grad-
ing improvements on certain streets in
the issuance of temporary notes to pay
the City of Salina, and providing for
the cost thereof pending the issuance
and sale of bonds.

at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which
proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance
be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within
the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of
the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates
are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in
accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City
Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the
proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of
which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That Temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by
the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner
and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the con-
tract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4t per
cent per annum and to mature not later than June 21st , 1949 ,
and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment
of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordimnce shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city paper.
