5314 Issue GO Bonds Series P-1431 1 1 aRDINANCE NUNLT3a, (published in the Salina Jnnrra.l AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina., Kansas, in the sum of $68,912.23, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City to be designated as Series Number P-143. WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been let and performed for the construction of the following street improve- ments in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: i Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Front Street from the south line of North Street to the :north line of Lincoln Street, as provided for in Resolution Number 922 and Ordinance Number 5174. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Grand Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of Eighth Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5174 and Resolution Number 896. Curbing, Guttering, paving and grading of Gypsum Avenue from the east line of Delaware Avenue to the east line of Missouri Avenue,, as provided for in Resolution Number 929 and Ordi- nance Number 5174. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Twelfth Street from the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line of Washington Avenue, as provided for in Resolution Number 904, and Ordinance Number 5174. Curbin,-, guttering, paving and grading of Walnut Street from the east line of Missouri Pacific Right -of -Way or end of existing pavement thence west across said railway tracks to the west line of Clark Street running north from Walnut Streit, as provided for in Resolution Number 920 and Ordinance Number 5174. Paving and grading Ash Street from the east right-of-way line of Missouri Pacific Railroad to the east right-of-way line of U.S. 81 High- way By-Passq as provided for by Resolution Num- ber 901 and Ordinance Number 5173. Paving and grading Clark Street from the south line of State Street to the north line of Walnut Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 907 and Ordinance Nu*ber 5173. Paving and grading Kirwin Avenue from the east line of Ninth Street to the west line of Santa Fe Avenve, as provided for by Resolution Number 903 and Ordinance Number 5173. Paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the south line of Johnstown Avenue to the south line of Ash Street, and the curbing, guttering, paving and grad- ing of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Johnstown Avenue, as provided for in Resolution Number 921 and Ordinance Numbers 5173 and 5174. Paving and grading Woodland Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Seventh Street and the grading, curbing, gutterin�� and pav- ing of Woodland Avenue from the east line of Seventh Street to the east Dine of Ninth Street, as provided for in Resolution Number 905 and prdinance Numbers 5173 and 5174. Bonds Numbered 35 to 41, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1954. Bonds Number 42 to 46, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1955 Bonds Numbered 49 to 55, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1956 Bonds Numbered 56 to 62, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1957 Bonds Numbered 63 to 69, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1958 Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the 12ayor and shall be attested by the signature of the City Clerk and corporate seal of the City shall be affixed thereto and said bonds shall have attached thereto interest coupons repre- senting the interest thereon, which coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear the printed or lithographed facsimile signature of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city and said bonds and interest coupons shall be registered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the Auditor of State, as required by law. Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series P-143 and shall be in the form and shall contain recitals substantially as follows; to -wit: WfMEAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained and the portion £hereof in the amount of $17,791.48 to be paid by general taxes to be levied upon all taxable property within said city for the improvement of squares and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys and for the improvement of any of said streets where the same is through or adjacent to property- of the city for which the city is liable, and for which bonds are to be issued; and WBEREAS, the total cost of said curbing, guttering, lA ving and grading of said streets, which are to be paid by special assessments and to be levied upon lots and pieces of ground liable for the payment of said curbing, guttering, grading and paving in said streets has been ascertained and has been hereby found and determined to be the sum of $63,468.31, which amount has been heretofore duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable there- for according to law provided for in the ordinance of the City of Salina, Kansas, relating thereto, duly passed and approved, of which amount the sum of $12,347.56 has been paid by the property owners liable therefore, leaving a balance of $51,120.75, for which bonds are to be issued; and WHEREAS, bonds in the aggregate sum of $68,912.23 are to be issued to pay the actual net cost thereof. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: j Section 1. That the foregoing preambles be and they are hereby authorized as a part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improvements herein above referred to and described in the Ordinances and Resolutions hereinbefore referred to, there shall be issued Internal Improvem..ent Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of $68,912.23, which shall consist of 69 (Sixty -Nine) bonds numbered 1 to 69, inclusive, all dated July 1, 1948, which shall bear interest at the rate of One and one-half (lz%) per cent per annum from and after said date until the respectivermaturities of said bonds, payable semi- v annually on February 1st and i° 1st, of each year, said interest to be evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for and said. bonds shall become due as follm;s: Bonds Numbered 1 to 6, for $1,000.00 each except Bond Number 1 is for $912.23, due August 1, 1949 Bonds Number 7 to 13, for $1,000.00 due August 1, 1950 Bonds Numbered 14 to 20 for $1,000.00 each, due Augustl, ' N51. Bonds Number 21 to 27, for $10000.00 each, due August 1, 1952 Bonds Numbered 25 to 34, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1953. Bonds Numbered 35 to 41, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1954. Bonds Number 42 to 46, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1955 Bonds Numbered 49 to 55, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1956 Bonds Numbered 56 to 62, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1957 Bonds Numbered 63 to 69, for $1,000.00 each, due August 1, 1958 Section 2.
