Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City j of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 224, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost there- of pending issuance and Sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED By THE Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Co.pany, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor", as submitted to the Board of COMIlLiSSioners on May 24, 1948, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 29, 1948, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benefit district, being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 224, as heretofore provided by Ordinance Number 5297, as follows: Construction of an 8" V. C. P. Lateral Sa_;itary Sewer, with all necessary connections, manholes, flush tanks and other appurten- ances, beginning at a manhole in Quincy Street on the center line of an east and west public alley, extended east, lying next orth of Lanneap olis Avenue thence ,,:est in the center of said alley 505 feet, :ore or less, to manhole to be constructed in said alley, being theterminus of said sewer, at and for the unit prices for said 1work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and :wade parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which esti ates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance *ith the proposal of said con- tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of wiich are hreby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That Temporary 1i tes signed by the1.ayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from :Um time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4; per cent per annum and to mature not leter than April 30, 1949 and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, sue# notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
