Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements
on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.

BE Ii ORDI�IPTED by the hoard of Commissoners of the City o-' Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptande by the City of Salina of the proposal of the

H. J. Taylor Construction Company, herein -after referred to as the "Contractor" as
submitted to the Board of Corraissioners on July 11, 1949, which is hereby found to
be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Com-
missoners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina

by the Mayor on July 18,1949 for the construction of certain public improvements in
the City of Salina, &ansas, to witz
Curbing, guttering, and grading of Fifth Street from the north line of
Antrim Avenue to the center line of Otis Avenue, as provided by the
Ordinance Number 5391•
Curbing and guttering and grading of Grand Avenue from the west line of
Tenth Street to the west line of Eleventh Street, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5391.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Illinois Street from the west line
of Sheridan Street to the east line of Mlerrill Street and Illinois
Street from the west line of lerrill Street to the east line of
Hancock Street, as provided by Ordinance Kumber 5391.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the viest line of
Pershing Street to the center line of Fuston Street,as provided by
Ordinance Number 5391.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Reynolds Street from the center
line of Lincoln Street to the center line of Broadway Boulevard,
as Ordinance Number 5391.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Third Street from the north line of
Republic Avenue to the south line of Lot 13, projected west, Block 5
in Hutchinsonts Addition to the City of Salina, being approximatley
453 feet north and south, as Ordinance NuRiber 5391*
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
land contract are hereby refered to and made parts of this ordinance be and the same
is ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shoves. by the sworn estimates of the City Kni ineer oA file in the
office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part
jof this ordinance.

Section 2, Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the pk ns and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in
the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor
and under the terms of the said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and
made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3, That Temporary Notes signed by the 1-jayor and attested by the City
,Clerk be issued from time to time as the wort: progressed in the manner and form as

required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such
,work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4 per cent per annum and to mature
not later than December 1, , 1950 ,and to be issued in such amounts and at
such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said con-
tractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that pmt bonds are issued in

Section 4. This ordinance shall be on
force and effect
