Taylor Construction Company for the construction of cettain k teral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Viewer Districts 243, and providing fothe issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost the -eof, pending issuance and sal(V bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: SECTION 1. That the acceptance by the Citv of Salina of the proposal of the H. J& Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 11, 1949, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commis - C ity sioners of said/to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its YAyor on July 18, 1949, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benefit district, being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 243, as heretofore provided byOrdinance Number 5387, as follows: Construction of an 8" V. C. P. Lateral Sanitary Sewer, with::11 necessary connections, manholes, flush tanks and other appurtenances, beginning at an aiisting manhole in a alley first south of Gypsum Avenue and between Connecticut Avenue 500 feet to the center of Stack Avenue to a manhole to be constructed being the termines thereof, at and for the unit price for said work con-`ained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred t oand rade parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and cnnfirmed, said proposal being -,,.ith in the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn astiirates of the City Engineer on file in the office i ! of the City Clerk, which estimates are here -y referred to and made a part of this ordin- ance, SECTION 2. Said improvements stall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City ErTireer on file inthe i Office of the City Clerk and in accordance ir,ith the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are here'oy referred to and made parts of this i ordinance. SEC'21ON 3. That temporary notes signed by the eyor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as t -e work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amounttbereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not --to exceed 4i per cent per annum and to mature :ot later than December 30, 1950 and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes -to be issued to said contract- or and to be fedeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. I SECTION' 4. That ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its i publication once in the official city paper.
