AN ORDIUNCE levying special assessment against certain prope%ty to pay the cost of construct-
ing certain water service pipes in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.

WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered the owners of theprope-_-ty
hereinafter described to lay water service pipes from the water mains in the streets
abutting thereon at the back of the curb line in said streets, prior to the paving there-
of, and
'dTEEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official city paperof said order and
the owners of the property hereinafter descri',_d did not within 30 days after the last
publication of said notice lay saidwater service pipe and the city laid or caused to
be laid, pursuant to section 12-832 to 12-833 of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1935,
and the cost thereof has been ascertained, and remainsu2paid by the property owners
liable therefor;

SECTION 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against each
of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter described, a special tax or assessment for
the purpose of pairing that part of thecost of constructing and laying said water service
Nipes taxable against such lots and parts of lets, in the various amounts set opposite
the following described lots and parts of lots, to -wit:

SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to immediately
certify the assessments made in Section one (1) of this ordinance to the County Clerk
of Saline County, Kansas to be placed upon the tax roll for collection subject to
the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
