and grading of Thirteenth Street -from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the north
line of North Street; and for the paving and grading of Thirteenth Street from the
south line of Broadwa\r Boulevard to the south line of Lincoln Avenue
WHEREAS, by Resolutions Number 1097, 1110, 1085, 1102, 1109, 1095, 1096, 11C1, 1084,
1104, and 1105 duly adopted on April 4, 1949, May 2, 1949, March 21, 1949, April 11,
1949, April 25, 1949, March 28, 1949, April 4, 1949, April 11, 1949, March 21, 1949,
April 11, 1949 and April 18, 1949, respectively, the Board of Commissioners of the
City, of Salina, Kansas, have declared that they deem it necessary to grade and pave
each - Eighth Street from the north line of Antrin, Avenue to the south line of Otis
Avenue; Eleventh Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the north line of
Harsh Avenue; Funston Street from the south line of Republic Avenue to the north
line of Sunset Drive; Hamilton Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the west
line of Eleventh Street; Hancock Street from the north line of Venango Street to the
south line of Republic Avenue; Jewell Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to
the west line of Eleventh Street; Montrose Street from the north line of Charles
Street to the north line of Prescott;Avenue; Pershing Street from the north line of
Jewell Avenue to the north line of Kirwin Avenue; Tenth Street from the south line
of Harsh Avenue to the south line of Pacific Avenue; Thirteenth Street from the north
line of Lincoln Avenue tc the north line of North Street; and Thirteenth Street from
the south line of Broadwely Boulevard to the south line of I:incoln Avenue; together
j with such excavation and grading as may be necessary and for the grading of each
therAof to the established paving ,;rade betwen the gutter lines of eac thereof.
WHERE.9.S, each of said. resolutions were duly published for six days in the Salina
Journal, daily newspaper published in said city, and beim; the official city paper,
and the majority of the resident property owners owning a majority of square feet
of the lots or real estate liable to taxation for the cost of said improvements did
not within twenty days from the date of the last publication thereof file with the City
Clerk a sufficient protest in writing against the makinr, of sald improvemehts, no
protests of any kind have been filed; CD

BE IT ORDAINED by the Bo�3rd of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That it is necessary and it is hereby- ordered that Eighth Street
from the north line of Antrim Avenue to the south line of Otis Avenue in said City
be graded to the established paving grade and paved between the guttering lines thereof.
Secti:;n 2. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Eleventh
Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the north line of Harsh Avenue in
siad City be graded to the established paving grade and pawed between the guttering
lines thereof.
Section 3. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Funston
Street from the south line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Suncet Drive, in
said City be graded to the established paving grade and paved between the guttering
lines thereof.
Section 4. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Hamilton
Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of El.egenth Street, in
said City be graded to the established paring grade and paved between the guttering
lines thereof.
Section 5. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Hancock
Street from.the north line of Venango Str et to the
south line of Republic Avenue,
in said City be graded to the established paving grade and paved between the guttering
lines thereof.

Section 6. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Jewell
Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of Eleventtj Street in said
City be graded to the established paving grade and paved between_ the guttering lines
thereof.
Section 7. That it is necessary and it Is hereby ordered that Montrose
Street from the north Line of Charles Street to the north line of Prescott Avenue in
siad City be graded to the established paving grade and paved between the guttering
lines thereof.
Section 8. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered th-..t Pershing
Street from the north line of Jewell Avenue to the north line of Kirwin Avenue insaid

Section 11. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that Thirteenth
Street from the south line of i roadway Boulevard to the south line of Lincol._ Avenue
in said City be graded to the established paving grade and paved between t v; buttering

Section 12. That for- the work and improvem.en l s herein ro Aded for, the
City Engineer shall make and file with the City Clerk on or before the 20th
day of June , 1949, complete plans and speci-fications for th- paving
and grading, w ith excavation nece-sary there "or, of each of the streets or portio .s
thereof described in Sections 1 to 11, both inclusive of this ordinance, :with the
follo.�aing type of improvements:

against 611 taxable property of the C.c;r and paid by the City at le�rge.
