AN ORUI_'A TCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of bonds of the City of Salina,
Kansas, in the sum of 4,175,000.00 to pa;, -the cost of erecting and equipping a public
building, to -wit: a fire station within and for the City of Salina, to be designated
as Series F-146.
UEREAS, at an election duly called and regularly held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on
April 5, 1949, there was submitted to the qualified electors of said city the proposition
of "Shall the City of Salina issue its general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding
11175,000.00 under the provisions of the General Statutes, 1947 Supplement, 13-1431, et
seq. for the purpose of paying the cost of erecting and eouipping a public building for
such city, to -wit: a public fire station"; all pursuant to Ordinance Number 5365 of said
City and the laws of the State of Kansas; and
-EDEAS, all directives of said Ordinance Number 5365 and the requisites of the laws of
the State of Kansas were fully and timely complied with; and
'?REAS, at such election, a majority of the votes cast thereat upon said proposition,
were cast in favor- of authorizing the said City of Salina to issue its bonds in said sum
for such purpose, all as duly and regularly determined by the Board of Corni_ssioners meet-
ing as a Board of Canvassers (ex -officio) in the manner and form required by law; and

the Board of Commissioners of said City, was directed to and did submit unto said Board
of Commissioners of said City, under oath, a detailed estimate of the cost of erecting and
equipping said public building all in compliance with the directives of said Resolution
Number 1106; and

Section 1. 'That the f oregoing preambles are hereby made a part of this ordinance.
That the Board of Commissioners of the Cite of Salina, Kansas, deem it necessary to pro-
vide for the erection and equipping a public building to -wit: a Fire Station within the
City and for said City, as heretofore duly authorized by the qualified electors of said
City. That for the purpose of paying the cost of erection and equipping thereof it is nec-
essary and it is hereb7� ordered that Internal Improvement and General Obligation bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of 4175,000.00, be issued, being
the cost of the erection and equipping thereof, as hereto ore duly authorised by the
qualified electors of said City. That the sum of .W'175,000.00 shall be represented by
175 bonds of the principal sum of ,1,000.00 each and numbered 1 to 175, both inclusive,
and said bonds shall all be dated June 1, 19499 bonds numbered 1 to 135, inclusive, shall
bear interest at the rate of 14 per cent per annum and bonds numbered 136 to 175, inclusive,
shall bear interest at the rate of 12 per cent per annum, payable February 1, 1950 and
semi-annually thereafter on August 1 and February 1, of each year, said interest to be
evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become due as
follows:

Section 2.
Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be
attested by the
signature of the City Clerk and the corporate seal of the City
shall be affixed
thereto and each of said bonds shall have ibterest coupons
attached, which
coupons shall be in the form required by law and each thereof
shall bear the printed lithographed facsimile, signatures of the Mayor and
the City Clerk of said City and said bonds and interest coupons shall be
registered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the State
Auditor, as required by law.
Section 3.
Said bonds shall be designated as Series F-146 and shall
be in the form and contain recitals substantially as follows, to -wits

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that the City of Salina, in the County of
Saline, State of Kansas, acknowledges itself to be indebted and, for value
received, hereby promises to pay the bearer the sum of
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
in lawful money of the United States of America, on the first day of
, 19 ,, with interest thereon from the date
hereof at the rate of per cent per annum
pay b February 1 1950, and semi-annually thereafter on the First days
of and each year, on presentation and surrender of the
interest coupons heretd affixed as said coupons severally become due, both
principal and interest of this bond being payable at the office of the State
Treasurer of the State of Kansas, in the City of Topeka, Kansas. And said
City of Salina, Kansas, is held and firmly bound by these presents, and the
full faith, credit and resources of said City are hereby irrevocably pledged
for the payment of said principal and interest at maturity.
This bond is one of a series of 175 bonds of like date and tenor,
excepting number and maturity, aggregating the principal sum of $175,000.00
issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of paying the cost of
erecting and equipping a public building for such City, to -wit: a public
fire station, by the authority of and in full compliance with the provisions
restrictions and limitations of the State of Kansas, including Sections 10..
101 to 10-125, both inclusive, of the General Statutes of Kansas, 1935 and
Sections 13-1431 and 13-1433, 1947 Supplement to the General Statutes of
Kansas, 1935, and Section 13-1432, General Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and all
amendments thereto, and all other provisions of the laws of said State
applicable thereto, and this bond and all other bonds of this series, and all
interest thereon are to be paid by the City of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions and
things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the issuance of
this bond have been properly done and performed and do exist in due and regu-
lar form and manner as required by the Constitution and laws of the State of
Kansas, and the total indebtedness of said City, including this series of
bonds, does not exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation.
IN WIT14ESS WHEREOF, the said City of Salina, Kansas, has executed this
bond by causing it to be signed by its Mayor and its corporate seal to be
hereto affixed, attested by its City Clerk, and the interest coupons hereto
attached to be signed with the facsimile signatures of said officers, and
this bond to be dated the First day of June, 1949

Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to prepare and execute the bonds her4inbefore described and when
said bonds are duly executed and registered to deliver said bonds to the pur-
chaser or purchasers thereof whose bid was duly accepted by the City.
Section 5. The full faith, credit and resources of the City of
ftlina, Kansas, shall be and they are hereby irrevocably pledged for the
prompt payment of said bonds and all interest thereon. The Board of
Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas shall annually make provision
for the payment of the principal and interest on said bonds as the same
become due by levying taxes upon all property liable therefor within the
said city as provided by law.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication once in the official city paper.
