5365 Call Election Issue GO Bonds Fire Station-- ORDIN212E N`0BER 5365 (Published in the Salina Journal March 8, 1949) i AN ORDINU1 CE providing for the calling and holding of an election of the qualified electors of the City of Salina, Kansas to vote upon the question of authorizinp� the Board of Commissioners of said city to issue general obligation bonds of the city in amount of not exceeding $ 175,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of erectin,- and equipping a public building for such city, to -wit: a public fire station. WTMENS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, deem it necessary to provide for the erecting and equipping; of a public building for such city, to -wit: a public fire station; and W OREAS, the cost of erecting and equipping such a public building for said city will not exceed the estimated amount of not exceeding $ 175,000.00 and VIHEREAS, it is necessary to issue general obligation bonds of the city payable by a general tax to :gay the cost of said erecting and equipping said public building; and WHEREAS, it is necessary before said bonds may be legally issued to submit the proposition of issuing the same for said purpose to the qualified electors of said city at an election to be held within 30 days from the date of the adoption and publication of this ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City of Salina is a city of the first class; and TiIMEAS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated will not create a debt in excess of the limit now provided by law; and so, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMD1 ISSION.FIZS OF THE CITY OF SALIRL: Section 1. That the preambles of this ordinance are hereby incorp- orated herein and that an election is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on Tuesday, April 5, 1949, between the hours Of 6:00 otclock A. 14. and 7:00 o'clock P. M. of said day, at the time of the regular city election and within 30 days after the adoption and publication of this ordinance according to law and that such election shall be held at the usual place of holding elections and shall be con- ducted by the officers or persons provided by law for holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that the Mayor and two additional members of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, being a majority of the governing body of said city, shall and are hereby ordered and directed, jointly and severally, topubl:ith notice of said election in the manner and form directed and required by Section 10-120, General Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and that the purpose of calling said election is to submit to the qualified electors of said city the propo- sition of issuing general obligation bonds of said city in the amount of not exceeding $ 175,000.00 to pay the cost of erecting and equipping a public building for such city, to -wit: a public fire station, as more particularly set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 2. That the proposition to be vote upon by the qualified electors of said city at said election shall be substantially the following: Shall the following be adopted?
