Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 232 and 233, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to iay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAIIJED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Selina of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "con- tractor", as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 8, 1948, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its-lvhvor on kJovember 18th , 1948 for the con- struction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: (1) A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benef it district, being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 232, as heretofore provided by Ordinance Number 5328, as follows: Construction of an 8" V.C.P. Lateral Sanitary Sevier, with all necessary conn- ections, manholes, flush tanks and other appurtenances, beginniwE at a manhole in Quincy Street which is in the center line of an alley, extended west, next north of Ellsworth Avenue and 30 feet west of the east line of said Quincy Street; thence west in the center line of said alley as an 8 inch V.C.P. sewer 510 feet to a manhole to be constructed in said alley, being the terminus of said sewer. (2) A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benefit district, being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 233, as heretofore provided by Ordinance Number 5347, as follows: Construction of an 8" V.C.P. Lateral Sanitary Se-,�:rer, with all necessart7 conn- ections, manholes, flush tanks and other appurtenances, beginning at an existing 10 inch sanitary sewer in Chicago Street and on center line of an east and west public alley north of Ash Street, thence east alon7. the center l.ne of said alley with an 8" clay pipe sewer 430 feet to a manhole to be constructed in said alley being the terminus of said sewer. at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which pro- posal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvea-ents shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said con- tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That Temporary Notes signed by the Yllayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner M11U 1 VIL-lu MO 1-GlitA 11 Vu v V -V V- UW price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent later than December 30th, 1949 and to be issued in per annum and to mature not such amounts and at such time as mone•.% for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4.
