5344 Issue GO Bonds Series P-1451 ORDINANCE NUMBER 5 Published in the Salina Journal • Lk , 1948) AN ORDINANCE authorisingand providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $110,020.57, to pay the cost of improving certain streets and alleys in said city to be designated as Series Number P-145. WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been let and performed for the construction of the following streets and alley improve- ments in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: I Paving and grading of a certain north and south public alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from Elm Street to•a point 532 feet north of the north line of Elm Street, as provided by Resolution Nunber 982 and Ordinance Number 5246. Paving and grading of a certain north and south public alley between Fifth Street and Fourth Street from Mulberry Street to Walnut Street, as provided by Resolution Number 981 and Ordinance Number 5246. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Pacific Avenue, from the west side of Tenth Street to a line 70t west of the west line of Ninth Street, as provided by Resolution Number 950 and Ordinance Number 521.8. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Osbnrne Street to 260 feet east of the east line of Osborne Street and curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne Street, as provided by Resolution Num- ber 965 and Ordinance Number 5218. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Minneapolis Avenue from the west line of Osborne Street to 125 feet east of the east line of Osborne Street, as provided by Resolution Num- ber 967 and Ordinance Number 5218. Curbing, guttering and paving, grading of Olrborne Street from the south line of Republic Avenue to the south line of the city limits, asprovided btr Resolution Number 968 and Ordinance Number 5218. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Seventh Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the south line of Woodland Avenue, as provided by Resolution Number 976 and Ordinance Number 5218. Paving §nd grading of Chicago Street from the south line of State Street to the north line of Walnut Street, as provided by Resolution Number 935 and Ordinance Number 5217. Paving and grading of Ohio Street from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue, as provided by Resolution Number 939 and Ordinance Number 5217. Paving and grading of North Street from the east line of Fourth Street to the east line of Arthur Street, as provided by Resolution number 940 and Ordinance Number 5217 Paving and grading of Lincoln Avenue, fromethe east line of Tenth Street to the west line of Ninth Street, as provided by Resolution Number 948 and Ordinance Number 5217. Paving and grading of Eighth Street from the south line of Woodland Avenue to the south line of Pacific Avenue as provided by Resolution Number 949 and Ordinance Number 5217. WBMEAS, the total cost of said imhroverr_ents has been ascertained and the portion thereof in the amount of $39,489.56 to be paid by general taxes to be levied upon all taxable property within said city for the improvement of squares and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys and for the improvement of any of said streets where the same is through or adjacent to property of the city for which the city is liable, and for which bonds are to be issued; and WHEREAS, the total cost of said curbing, guttering, paving and grading of said alleys & streets, which are to be paid by special assessments and to be levied upon lots and pieces of ground liable for the payment of said curbing, puttering, grading and paving in said streets and alleys has been ascertained and has been hereby found and determined to be the sum of $87,716.68, which amount has been hereto- fore duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable therefor according to law provided for in the ordinance of the City of Salina, Kansas, relating thereto, duly passed and approved of which amount the sum of $17,185.67 has been paid by the property owners liable therefore, leaving a balance of $70,531.01, for which bonds are to be issued; and 'PIMEAS, bonds in the aggregate sum of $110,020.57 are to be issued to the actual cost thereof; pay BE IT ORDA11TE,D by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the foregoing preambles be and they are hereby authorized as a part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay . the cost of the improvements herein above referred to and described in the Ordi- nances and Resolutions hereinbefore referred to, there shall be issued Internal Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas;, in the total principal sum of $110,020.57, which shall consist of one hundred ten bonds, numbered 1 to 110 inclusive, all dated October 1, 1948, which shall bear interest at the rate of OU"0'C`� .o - per cent per annum from and after said date until the respective maturities of said bonds, payable seam -annually on April 1st and October 1st of each year, said interest to be evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become due as follows: Bonds Numbered 1 to 11, for $1,000.00 each except Bond Number I is for $1,020.57, due October 1, 1949 Bonds Numbered 12 to 22, for $1,000.00 each due October 1, 1950 Bonds Numbered 23 to 33, for $1,,000.00 each, Due October 1, 1951 Bonds .dumber 34 to 44, for $1,000.00 each, due October 1, 1952 Bonds Number 45 to 55, for $1,000.00 each, due October 1, 1953 Bonds 11umbered X56 to 66, for $1,000.00 each, due October 1, 1954 Bonds Numbered 67 to 77, for $1,000.OU each, due October 1, 1955 Bonds Numbered 78 to 88, for $1,000.00 each, due October 1, 1956 Bonds Numbered 89 to 99, for UsOU0.00 each, due October 1, 1957 Bonds Numbered 100 to 110, for $12000.00 each, due October 1, 1958 Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be attested by the signature of the City Clerk and corporate seal of the City shall be affixed thereto and said bonds shall have attached thereto interest coupons representing I the interest thereon, which coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear the printed or lithographed facsimile signature of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city and said bonds and interest coupons shall be registered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the Auditor of State, as required by law. Section 3.
