5337 Confirm Street Improvements1 W D 1 ORDINA+ICE NUOER 5337 (Published in the Salina Journal • 1948 AN ORDIN111dCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain paving and grading -wmprovements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to asthe "Con- tractor" as submitted to tie Board of Commissioners on August 30, 1948 which is hereby found to be the lovrest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina, by its Mayor on September 7, IL948 for the con- struction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: Paving and grading Claflin Avenue from the westline of Quinet Street to the west line of Roach Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Columbia Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Eighth Street from the north line of Hamilton Avenue to the south line of Antrim Avenue as provided b-1 Ord- inance Number 5327. Paving and grading Eighth Street from the south line of Hamilton Avenue to the north line of Harsh Avenue as provided by Ord - inane Number 5327. Paving and grading Fifth Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the north line of Woodland Avenue, as provid6d by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Kirwin Street from the west line of Ninth Street ,:o the west line of Pershing; Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Norton Street from the north line of Cloud Street to the north line of Claflin Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Quincy Street from the north line of Cloud Street to the north line of Claflin Avenue as provided by Qrdinanc e Number 5327. Paving and grading Russell Av4nue from the west line of Quincy Street to the west line of Roach Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5327. Paving and grading Tenth Street from the north line of Hamilton Avenue to the south line of Antrim Avenue, as provided by Ord- inance Number 5327. at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estirates are hereby fl 1 referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said con— tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4a per cent per annum and to mature not later than Decer.ber 1., 1949 , and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
