91-9429 Water Sewers( /�wb�t�ic/ /r �i�e �Q/ira ✓au�Na� l//Q�"G�F .Z.�f/1��/t Kansas ORDINANCE NUMBER 91-9429 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 41-4 OF THE SALINA CODE TO ALLOW THE SUM OF MONEY IN THE WATER AND SEWERAGE PETTY CASH FUND TO BE ESTABLISHED BY RESOLUTION; AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. WHEREAS, a petty cash fund for the Water and Sewerage Department has been established; and WHEREAS, the amount authorized in the petty cash fund is subject to changing conditions; and WHEREAS, the authorized amount in the petty cash fund may be established by resolution; SO NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 41-4 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: repealed. "Section 41-4. Petty cash fund. (a) There is hereby established a petty cash fund for the use of the Water and Sewerage Department for the purpose of paying postage, freight, temporary labor and other emergency expenses, including refund of deposits made to secure payment of accounts. The sum of money authorized for the petty cash fund shall be established from time to time by resolution. (b) The petty cash fund shall be deposited in the designated city depository bank as a separate account and shall be paid out on the order of the cashier of the Water and Sewerage Department by checks which shall state clearly the purpose for which issued. (c) The payees of all checks drawn on petty cash funds shall certify thereon over their signatures that such services were rendered, supplies furnished or refunds received, as the case may be, and any false certification on any check shall be deemed obtaining money under false pretenses and punished as provided by law. (d) Whenever the petty cash fund becomes low or depleted, the cashier shall prepare vouchers covering such expenses as have been paid from the petty cash fund, and shall submit such vouchers together with the paid checks to the City Clerk for audit, and allowances of the amount from the contributing funds. Warrants issued therefor shall be payable to the petty cash fund and shall be deposited therein to restore the petty cash fund to its original amount, for use as herein provided." Section 2. That the existing Section 41-4 of the Salina Code is hereby Section 3.
