Kansas: BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Section 1. That the types of significant exterior architectural features of the structures within the district that should be protected include the principal facades, main entrances, protruding bays, dormers, covered porches, extended entryways (portecheres) and broad cantilevered eaves. Section 3. That the types of construction, alteration, demolition and removal, other than those requiring a building or demolition permit, that should not be undertaken without obtaining a certificate of appropriateness include: a) Installation of off-street parking areas in any front yard in excess of a double -wide twenty foot (201) driveway located perpendicular to the street; b) Installation of a fence in any front yard; c) Installation of metal or vinyl siding on the exterior of any landmark or contributing principal structure; d) Installation of any sign exceeding two (2) square feet in area except temporary political campaign, real estate and construction signs. Section 4. That the principal structure designated as landmark is 800 South Santa Fe Avenue. Section 5. That the principal structures to be designated as contributing include 818, 820, 824, 826, 828, 830, 840, 850, 860, 809, 815, 833 land 841 South Santa Fe Avenue. Section 6.
