5512 Call Election GO Bond IssuanceAN ORDINTA XE providing for the calling and holding of an election of the qualified
electors of the City of Salina, Kansas, to vote upon the question of author-
izing the Board of Commissioners of said city to issue its general obligation
bonds in tree amount of 113,000.00 for the purpose of payins the cost of pur-
chasing land to be used by the said city for park purposes.
1iEAS, in the jud orient of the -board of Commissioners of Salina, Kansas, it is
expedient that said city purchase land for park purposes;
i'llEI IUS, the cost of said purchase of land. v,ill not exceed the estimated amount of
1133000.00; and
ATLR,2riS, it is necessary to issue general obligation bonds of the city to pay the cost
of said land; and
I-LRAS, it is necessary before said bonds may be legally issued to submit the proposi-
tionX of issuing the same for such purpose to the qualified electors of said city at Gari
gene_Ial election to be held vTithin 90 days from the date of the adoption and Publication
of this ordinance; and
11 HEPEAS, the City of Salina is a city of the "i;-st class; and
'H^,IU!AS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated e.,ill not create a debt
in excess of the limit now provided by lat-r; and so; TTOU TH RE ORE,
BE LT by'the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the preambles of thI Sordinance are hereby incorporated herein
and that an election is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas, PTovember
71 1950, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A. T.. and 7:00 P. Ii. of said day, at the time
of the regular general election and within 90 days after the adoption and publ.cation of
this ordinance according to lav: and that such election shall be held at the usual place
of holding elections and shall be conducted by tine oi'ficers or persons provided by law
for holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that a majority of the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, being the governing body of said city,
shall and are hereby ordered. and directed to publish notice of said election in the
manner and form dir_;cted and required by Section 10-120 General Statutes of Kansas, 1935,
and that the purpose of calling said election is to submit to tine qualified electors of
said city, the proposition of the issuing of bonds of said city in the amount of
113,000.00 to pay the cost of purchasing land for the use of tide said city for park
purposes, as more particularly set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors of
said city at said election shall be substantially tine following:
